Psychedelic Mandala Inspired Illustrations by Lauren Swan

Australian artist Lauren Swan’s deep passion for the sea and its infinite deep blue beauty reigns high in every piece of art she creates. Deeply inspired by mandala designs, and their colorful quality and spiritual quality, Swan’s illustrations urge us to return to nature and appreciate its metaphysical profundity.

In addition to drawing enigmatic, psychedelic creatures, such as sea turtles, wolves, elephants and octopus, the artist applies kaleidoscopic, mandala inspired illustrations on hand-painted ukuleles, another symbol of the beach and ocean. She mimics “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” and the spectrum of nebulas on each wooden ukulele, thus given it a psychedelic sensibility. You can find her work in her Etsy shop.
