Right, so, as the Mystical Archivist I thought I ought to do some archiving! As our first official entry to the archive of the land of Fe’our begins, we ought to inspect one of the most important locations in all of the realm:
Kogane Toshi, or ‘The Golden City’, is the capital of the Western shogunate of Ilbon. As stated in the records of the archive, dated circa 1485 Y.A., “It stood atop a chalky white cliff, which glistened and shone in the early morning’s rays of sun, as it faced towards the east. On the southern side of the city, the cliffs faded into a jumbled pile of stone, jagged pillars which jutted across an arid landscape. However, on the Western and Northern sides, one could find a pleasant mountainscape, coated with ancient trees and innumerable paths of travel. Below the Eastern cliffs lay a valley through which a river ran until it pooled in a lake just directly below the City. Around it countless farms dotted the lands, villages which depended upon the city for protection and in turn provided its food. “
As capital of the Western Shogunate, it is both an economic and political hub, facilitating most importantly of all, control of the magical substance ‘Ash’, which may only be found in Hairo No Mori, some fifty miles to its southwest. Its population is mostly within the villages below the city proper, which are technically considered part of the city and taxed as such. It is also one of the first cities in all of Ilbon to have a functional railway station, a historic first that connects it to the Northern nations, and the greater economic sphere of Fe’our as a whole.
