Idk why but I always wonder what it would be like to live in the Yuri On Ice universe and just...witnessing victuuri unfold. I still can’t get over the fact that Yurio’s attempt at trying to tell Yuuri “don’t give up, please keep skating” after his fail at the Grand Prix was to yell baka at him, call him a loser, and make him cry.

Or maybe that’s just me who interpreted it that way after rewatching yoi? Like I might be wrong, but I totally think that Yurio is truly the kind of character who would want his competitors to not give up and be the best that they can be even if he detests them or “detests” them *wink wink* before, y’know, obliterating them on the ice.

A thought about the reception of omegaverse:

Whenever I see people online get rediculously mad about things like omegaverse...I can’t help but feel a nagging feeling. It could mean many things, like ofc they could just dislike the trope because people are allowed to do that. BUT a big reason why people tend to be repulsed by omegaverse is because of the anatomy aspect.

I swear so many people who shit talk these kind of tropes act like men who can get pregnant don’t already exist. And that women being more dominant than submissive don’t already exist. And that men can’t have uteruses and women can’t produce sperm. I’ve seen endless types of comments like “but men can’t have babies 🤢” under some of the sweetest a/b/o fan arts and it’s tiring to see.

You could say that I’m “reading too much into this” or that I’m “defending fetishization of queer people”(even though I’m queer myself and many people who write a/b/o are lgbt+) but all I’m doing is pointing out that people are disgusted by a trope in fiction that isn’t hurting anyone and connecting it to real life where, again, no one is being hurt by the existence of trans people.

(Also, I’m not saying that if you dislike omega verse that you are transphobic. In fact many trans people veer alway from a/b/o because of disphoria, fetishization, etc.)

I cannot explain the level of excitement and satisfaction I have when I’m reading an AU fanfic that has references to the original material.

Like a specific interaction between characters, or a special object that is present in the original material somehow showing up abstractly and contextualized for the universe in the fic is just...such a cherry on top.
