When people who don’t like a character can’t be content with just not liking them, they have to prove they’re morally right in that dislike. Like… It’s not that serious kids. Not every opinion you hold needs to be about Justice and Moral Righteousness. It’s ok to just… Not like some characters. You don’t actually need to justify it.

Dear Star-Crossed Myth fandom,

I normally don’t get involved with childish shenanigans but this post stuck with me as it reminds me of the girls who decided Leon was a rapist and therefore despicable god.

Need I remind you, this is a romance novel. If you are not mature enough to handle mature content, I suggest you find another source of entertainment and not ruin it for the rest of us.

Additionally, I find it entertaining that so much focus was placed on Leon and the bath scene with a supposed rapey vibe, that the lot of you making a stink over this seemed to glide right over Teorus who actually does try to rape her and is stopped by….? DING DING DING! Leon! Yeah, wow. He’s a real piece of shit….

I sincerely hope the people at Voltage Inc didn’t change Leon’s character due to the childishness from a handful of immature girls. I love Leon just the way he was written and will be supremely disappointed if he got a rewrite.

I come on here ‘cause sixth guns creating drama over dumb shit and now here y'all creating dumb shit. Okay so, so while Leon is not a full on rapist (that we are aware of) there has been sexual assault that might have turned to rape if circumstances permitted it. This is not okay! Rape, like say murder, is a serious matter and you can’t just ignore that shit even in a fictious context. You can’t still like Leon, you can like characters who have done abhorrent things, but please if you do be aware and point problematic shit out. What occurs isn’t apologised for by Leon and is never brought up again and is probably my biggest issue with it. If later on the scene was addressed then I’d be more forgiving (not that I think it was ideal thing to add it) but voltage did no such thing. It’s not surprising that a character who’s power is pleasure views sex in such a way but how it was portrayed is not good at all. Now with Teo, and from what I remember and what has been said, he does at least apologise. There is regret and while even that situation is not great in how it is dealt, it is not pushed to the side and is put in a negative light. While we’re at it y'know who we can also call out (thanks to SarahSyna pointing this out) Partheno. I didn’t realise this, which is my own fault, but him and mc ‘making love’ the first is rape by deception. mc went to went bed with partheno believing he loved her and did so as a result of that belief. That of course isn’t true and so makes Partheno a murderer and a rapist. Voltage’s writer have shown themselves to not well informed when it comes to these matters, and while they won’t likely see any of it, so we should point it out. A lot of the characters have done fucked that shit that deserves to be pointed out. You can’t still enjoy them just do so being aware. As a little note, one person complaining about Leon ain’t gonna cause shit with vol, money and changing interest will. To think so is stupid and childish and please stop acting like someone complaining is gonna do shit, it’s dumb

@otomemonogatari honestly, your entire post was laughable. Seriously, this is a romance novel series with fictitious characters. Leon is the typical bad boy that is VERY common in almost all romance novels.

You walk a tricky line when dealing with sexual fantasies which is the entire reason these stories are created. If you can’t handle a certain type of character then go ahead and hate them and move on. It’s childish to say the least and annoying for those of us who happen to like that sort of character.

Though I don’t like speaking of it especially to a bunch of strangers, I myself am a victim of rape and I promise you, you have no fucking idea what you are talking about. This is the real world and whether you like it or not, shit that you don’t like will happen and you will never get an apology for it.

This shit about rape that is clearly not rape is offensive to those of us who have actually been physically assaulted against our will. Again, if you can’t handle mature content, don’t fucking read it. You are ruining it for the adults.

hey jen? i have cptsd from rape and other things (and while i’m not 18, i will be in less than 3 months) and i’ve gotta disagree voltage writers tried to make leon a bad boy™️ and to be completely honest, said writing is kind of awful. i’m not going to get onto you about liking leon because people are allowed to like bad characters (hell, i’m still into bill cipher and lucien lachance) but you have to acknowledge that they’ve fucked up. you can’t just look at a character who’s sexually assaulted someone and go “that’s okay for [insert reason]” there’s a difference between not handling a certain kind of character and being legitimately uncomfortable.

 for example, i don’t like scorpio’s character because he’s rude and i cant handle that, but i move on because he really hasn’t done anything worth calling out leon

, on the other hand, has fucked up a lot. he’s sexually assaulted and/or harassed mc on several occasions even with it being clear that the mc is uncomfortable. and i don’t know if you’ve been through the american public high school system but sexual harassment is almost a daily thing, so i know it first hand. he’s done some other relatively shady stuff as well that gives off abusive relationship-esque vibes as well.

 voltage is also at fault because they kind of have a track record of not knowing enough about societal aspects or just generally how some personalities work in relationships. but then they incorporate them into the stories and its a mess. 

and im not trying to say you can’t like leon, but keep in mind he’s done questionable things that can’t be ignored. it’d be one thing if he was like bill cipher, bc bill is portrayed as bad and we know that what he did was fucked up, he’s the villain and its expected. but with leon, leon’s portrayed as desirable. for fuck’s sake, he’s in a DATING SIM. you’re supposed to want to date him. but his abusive actions are written as something normal and that’s not a good thing. there are minors playing this game and they shouldn’t be taught that these things are normal. 

 and btw? no one’s ruining this for adults. star crossed myth is a 12+ game. it’s YOUR job as an adult to be careful around minors in the fandom. they’re allowed to be here and they’re allowed to be uncomfortable with aspects of the game that are shady or abusive. if they’re old enough to play it, theyre old enough to have an opinion on the problematic parts.

First of all, call a spade a spade and be done with it. Don’t pussyfoot around and try to justify your opinion without any facts to back this nonsense up.

I am assuming @otomemonogatari you are quite young like @lordteorus. Let me bestow some motherly advice my children. Yes, I am thirty eight years old, married for fifteen years and have a son. I’ve survived a mentally and physically abusive childhood, a gang rape, and made far too many poor decisions throughout my young adulthood that I am still rectifying all these years later. Do I want your sympathy, empathy or anything from anyone? No. Why? Because this is my life, the decisions I have made and it’s not your business. Simple.

Same goes for the content I enjoy reading. Here’s the thing, I love Leon just the way he is. I don’t think Voltage fucked up in the slightest. AGAIN, here you guys are making a shit storm over Leon sexually assaulting her in the bathroom yet Teorus did far worse in his story. I would also like to mention that in Huedhaut’s story, Teo and Ikky kidnap her and threaten her to be quiet or they will hurt her while they do pervy things to her. It’s of course thwarted when Hue finds the three of them and punishes Ikky and Teo on the spot.

If you guys insist on being the obnoxious moral police everyone hates, have the goddamn decency to point out all of the flawed content. All of this shit focused on Leon tells me two things. One, you haven’t read any or many of the other stories and two, you are inexperienced in sex because you are young and haven’t the slightest clue about adult sexual relationships and fantasies.

There is only one flaw I find with Voltage and that is that they made the rating too low for this game. Children 18 and younger have no business reading this particular content as it is steered toward adults in the first place. There’s a reason the MC is a grown woman out of college and living on her own with a career. How can a child possibly understand or relate to anything in these stories. That’s the only problem I personally have with Voltage.

I could break it all down for you why Leon’s character was written the way he was but, something tells me it would go in one ear and out the other or just completely over your heads to begin with. In fact, it may help you guys to read the interview series with the creator of Star Crossed Myth as she explains all about why Leon was written in such a way.

Ima add something REAL SUPER QUICK HERE. What none of y'all (besides Jen) seem to get is this; Leon is a god. When his story first starts, he’s this haughty, essentially stuck up man who wants to assert his role over the MC. He hints toward the fact that she, and other humans, are alive because he and the other gods allow them to be. He wants her to just get her job done and leave him alone. He wants nothing to do with humans. This is the way most gods think.

He does not see her as prey. He sees her as a simple human, that’s all.

However, once he falls in love with her, this man WILL LITERALLY DESTORY THE ENTIRETY OF THE GODDAMN UNIVERSE FOR HER. Have any of you read his POV? He literally states that if they can’t be together or if she dies, then he will become the god of destruction, start everything over, all for her. He doesn’t care if they try to kill him, so long as she is safe.

I got no rape vibes from this guy. I was a victim of molestion from a 17 year old when I was 7. All I see from Leon is a well written character who has awesome development and deeply loves his MC.

And Jen is right, this app definitely should not be rated 12+. Too mature.
