Ren quirked a brow, startled despite himself, but it only took him a moment to regain his composure. When he did, a wicked smile broke out across his features, try as he might to hide it as he leaned in, licking his way into Theo’s mouth. He dragged his claws down the other alpha’s neck, making his skin flush before red dots pimpled over wounds that healed almost immediately after.

By the time he pulled away, Theo’s mouth was a filthy red. “It’s good that they think we’re getting along, right?”

And he was only too happy to leave Theo behind, as he made his way back to the table.

he hated the way his body leaned into the kiss, all teeth and a general mess. but what he hated more was the markings left on his skin — the ones left previously almost healed, but hiding the new one’s would have been nearly impossible, even with the speed of his healing. with the other exiting the bathroom, theodore was left a raging mess, trying to get his head back on the right way, running fingers over his hair and rubbing against the new wounds, ideas on how to get his revenge spinning in his head at full speed.

the moment he left the bathroom to follow his fiance, he could hear the filthy words leaving his brother’s mouths, them getting scalded by his mother, before he was taking his seat at the table once more.

“I can’t get you out of this, Theo,” Ren murmured softly, crowding into the other alpha’s space. He leaned in close, so no one else would hear them, one hand steady on Theo’s waist to keep his balance, but he was pointedly aware of the scars beneath his clothes. They’d marked each other in the worst ways already. They’d already gone too far. “But if you work with me I’ll do everything I can to get you the next best thing.”

it took the man a moment to compose himself with the close proximity of the man, and he had to bite his tongue not to say anything rude or offending, especially that warren was trying to make a compromise out of an awful situation. ‘ can we just get this over with? they probably think we’re fucking in here or something. ’

What do I have to do to get you to start treating this like a business proposal instead of some twisted joke?” Ren snapped, keeping his hand flat on the door and forcing it shut. “This involves all of our packs, and you’re the only one trying to be a little bitch about it.”

Max wasnt together and he hadnt realized that a wolf was trailing him. He kept muttering his plan to himself in a way to console his shaking psyche. Max flipped his body around to see Theodore once again. The encounter before wasnt pleasant and he had an inkling that this wouldnt be fun either. “And you seem to like to stalk my ass.” He bit out. “What the fuck do you want?”

No matter what he did, or said, all Theo cared about was ‘ruining his life.’ There was no other way around this, and he was wasting his breath when Theo didn’t even want to negotiate.

Max knew standing around in Ren’s flat wasn’t going to do him any good. He wanted to leave and find a nice camp site in the woods. Where the trees were his allies and not other wolves to keep him. If he were to die in the woods, he’ll deal with it. 

Max walked along the uncharted territory. His arm was still killing him and he had his own satchel of medicine from the doctor with him. He was weak but figured he’ll survive a few hours of distance from the town an the sea of wolves that came with it.

theodore had been on a run as usual, trying to clear his mind of the constant feeling of anger and annoyance consuming him. not many wolves of the territory ever went out to unmarked lands, the rogue wolves a danger for even the strongest warriors if they were to be alone, but theodore had little fears. with growing powers and soon to be the top alpha of the pack, rogues were not something the man feared.

but coming across a scent that he’d witnessed before, but still unfamiliar, it peeked his interest. trailing silently after the unfamiliar person, theodore stood tall, eyeing the suspicious person from behind trees, before catching a scent of what seemed like dried blood and injury. ‘ you seem to have a death wish — ’ theodore roared.

“Really?” Ren snarl almost sounded like he was laughing, humor coating his spite as he cupped Theo’s jaw, forcing him to look up at him. “That’s what you’re playing for?”

His fingers dragged over Theo’s pulse, almost teasingly, but there was nothing gentle about the way they kissed. Ren trapped Theo against the door, taking him apart on his tongue and teeth. Copper spilled into their kiss where they demanded too much. It was hungry and desperate, and over too soon, but Ren was breathing hard when he pulled away. Behind half-lidded eyes, his gaze burned red. “What Theo? What do I have to do to get you off my case?”

the kiss left him panting — and sadly, wanting for more. he knew he’d be beating himself up for it, but in that moment his body was leaning into the other alpha, eyes mirroring the other’s half turned gaze. ‘ your mouth around my cock would do you good. ’ theodore teased with a half smirk, arching his back so his chest would be flush against the blond’s. knowing that the people outside the door, at the table, were listening to their conversation, it made it much more interesting.

“Nothing?” he hissed. Warren dragged his hand down Theo’s chest, making the first two buttons on his dress shirt pop open before settling low on the alpha’s hip. As blatant as the scars across Ren’s throat were, there was a matching set on Theo’s hip, where they’d marked each other in the worst sort of ways. 

“Do I need to claw through this to make a point?” he spat, sliding one leg between Theo’s thighs. He cut off the other wolf’s leverage, used his height against him to make retaliation all the more difficult, but he was so close he could feel Theo’s heart beating in his ribs.

Ren slammed his fist against against the door, hard enough that it threatened to knock it off its hinges. His eyes flashed red, and the snarl that twisted across his features looked curiously canine. “Enough, Kane. Name your price. They’re waiting for us out there.”

the movement caught theodore off guard, making him jump back a little, in the small space provided for his body as it is. ‘ fuck is wrong with you? i’m not doing anything ’ the alpha hissed through his teeth.

Theo didn’t have to go far to find the other alpha. Warren was already waiting for him. He crowded up against his fiance in the entrance to the washrooms, locking the door behind Theo after he was let in. His eyes were wild and the scent of stress and anger settled beneath his skin, twisting with a peculiar sort of frustration. This close, he could feel Theo’s breath against his cheek, and the memory of the other wolf’s warmth against his skin was already far too clear.

“What do I have to do to make you stop?” Ren hissed, voice trembling towards the edge. “This isn’t a game, Theo. I will not jeopardize this.”

eyes wide and eyebrows raised with interest and curiosity, theodore allowed himself to get cornered, the feelings radiating from the other only urging him on. ‘ i’m not doing anything. ’ theodore spoke with a hint of innocence, if anyone who knew him would ever believe he had at least an ounce of that particular trait in him.

“Take care of each other. Marriage is a road best trod lightly, but it can be infinitely satisfying,” Vito said, but his wife squeezed his hand, still so besotted after all these years. Not for the first time, Ren wished he was drinking something with alcohol, and that just made him feel so tired. The fake cheer left him exhausted where it made his fiance angry. That was probably what the next few years of their marriage were going to be like.

They clinked their glasses, and as good cheer was passed around the table, Ren quietly excused himself. He made a beeline for the washrooms, not looking back even once.

the other’s leave from the table brought some rage to bubble inside of his body, however the decision of leaving it contained was only for the sake of family, knowing he was going to suffer if he allowed himself to get angry and follow the man, maybe even try to reason with him. with the whole family seated once more, theodore allowed himself to rub at the injured finger, as if it was going to help — it wasn’t. the process of healing was a bitch to maintain, especially when you felt every motion of your bone coming together again.

he engaged himself in a conversation with their mothers — the people that sat closest to him, but he couldn’t ignore the biting look he was given by his father, and the soon coming comment from warren’s mother, letting him know that his fiance was taking too long of a time in the bathroom — to which theodore excused himself as well, allowing his mother to know that he was going to figure out what was happening, before trailing towards the bathrooms.

Ren leaned in closer, expression impassive as he ground the broken bones of Theo’s thumb into his hand. His heart was racing in the worst sort of way. He should have ended this with Theo when he had the chance, and in a moment of weakness, he wondered if a pack war really would have been all that troublesome. “You’ll have to try it with your teeth.” he murmured, leaning in until Theo’s hair could brush against his cheek. “Now stop before I break every bone in your hand.”

The sharp clanging of glasses caught his attention, and Ren had to pull away as Vito Kane got to his feet. A skilled predator with a dark past, he still look almost warm when his wife was smiling up at him. “Before tonight’s festivities get too far underway. I would like to propose a toast, to my son, Theodore…”

‘ you would like that, wouldn’t you? ’ theodore spoke though his teeth as he ripped his hand away from the other’s hold, gripping against his broken bones to set them back into place, to make sure of a proper healing. his fathers voice knocked him out of his pained daze, making his head turn at the words. from the reactions, the facial expressions, you could clearly see that this was what his parents wanted. it had been brought up as a conversation many times — and while they had valid points as of why they saw the opportunity as a good idea, theodore never understood it. he never understood the charm of mixing blood with the enemy, someone who they had been at war with for so many years. merging two big families, with even a bigger package behind them, it was a recipe for a disaster. 

‘ ... son-in-law to be, warren, and to the beautiful future ahead of us. ’ those words only made the boy roll his eyes. he stood when everyone else was, bringing his glass to toast the surrounding people in the table, his injured hand held subtly behind his back.

His mother asked how Ren was doing, and all he could offer was a tight-lipped smile. Under the table, he took hold of Theo’s thumb and bent it backwards, hard enough to make bone grind and bone, and he refused to let up until Theo moved or he broke his thumb. Whatever came first.

with a grind of his teeth at the sudden flash of pain, theodore refused to let his smile fall, instead leaning over, warren’s ear just millimeters away from theodore’s lips. ‘ i’ll claw your cock off, ’ he whispered, smirking at the possibility of other people at the table hearing his words.

the others attempt to move his hand from his lap was an obvious and expected thing, earning a teasing grin from theodore. instead of giving it up, theodore simply replaced it as soon as it was removed, slightly digging his nails into his thight as a warning of his own. words flowed from his mouth freely as he spoke to their mothers, but his hand continued with it's ministations, sliding up the blond man's thigh.
