After Spence ran off the apartment was just too big for me, and there was no point in keeping it when I knew that I’d be gone for so long. To be honest, my time away was cut surprisingly short. I’m just staying at S.H.I.E.L.D. until I find a new place to live.

No it happened while I was gone. Oh hey’s doing really good actually. Still getting used to the new place but he likes to sit out on the balcony a lot and just lounge for hours.

Oh okay. Yeah I.. Haven’t heard from Spence in a long time either actually. Do you need help finding a place to stay? Do you want a place to stay in the meantime?

He must have grown quite a bit from the puppy I knew him as...

I'm good at Headquarters for now, but I might have something planned. A place other than S.H.I.E.L.D. to stay temporarily... I'll let you know if it works out.

[ A look of concern crosses her face. ] I’m sorry, James. I knew what it meant to you.

I’m staying at Headquarters currently, but I’m looking into other options. I’d love to come visit you.

It’s.. It’s fine. Or rather it will be in due time anyway. It’s just only been a couple of days since I heard about it.

What.. What happened to the apartment? Why are you staying at headquarters? And come around whenever you want to. I mean, you’ll have to tell the woman down at the lobby you’re looking for me but she’s cool enough to not be completely paranoid about it.

Uh.. No. The studio is no longer.. Well the studio. It’s a not so long story but basically it was.. Burned down. [-He hadn’t lived there for very long in retrospect, but it was still his home and he had memories attached to it. Things he could never get back that were so important to him. And he’d gotten it from Jess, so that made it all the more special. Coughing a bit, he rubbed the back of his neck and tried to keep the smile up on his face.-]

But I have a new place.. If you ever wanted to come by. Are you back at the apartment?

Well, it’s good to enjoy what you do, and it’s hard not to enjoy something you’re good at. For example, I’ve really been enjoying eating a ridiculous amount of twinkies the past few months, and damn, am I good at it.
