unfriendly reminder that if a person is a he/they or a she/they it’s hella uncool to exclusively use their binary pronouns and i’m personally mad at you rn :)
YMMV on this, i go by she/they and i would rather someone pick one and stick with it. pronouns have a PRACTICAL USE; if you keep flip-flopping between them in the same sentence and it’s unclear who you’re talking about, you might as well just use my name.
That’s totally fine if that’s what you’re comfortable with! I’ve clarified a few times now in asks & other reblogs, but this was a general post and of course cannot apply to every single nonbinary person’s experience; since “nonbinary” is an extremely diverse experience!
Plenty of people are fine with individuals picking one and sticking to it, just as plenty of people don’t mind, just as plenty of people prefer for others to switch it up, and there’s nothing wrong with that. And of course switching things up doesn’t mean you have to alternate every other word — just when possible while maintaining clarity. Generally, I’ve found it best just to ask first ^^!
