"Of course."
"Yes. I still prefer yours though, I must say. "
"You act like that’s never happened before! You seem to be the most beautiful woman in this town, must be all the men think you’ll say no to them," he added. "Now do you mind showing me where I’d be staying? I did just arrive this morning you know."
"Oh Tom, you really are too kind." Edith felt herself blush as she flicked her gaze to the ground, clasping her hands in front of her as she swayed a little. In her distraction it took her a little while to acknowledge his question, but as she did she turned to him with a questioning smile. "Oh, of course! If you don't mind me asking, why is it you're visiting exactly? I'm rather pleased that you are, no matter what the reason may be." She added, her lips turning into her smile a little.

'yah, not a common one I hear. Unusual its cool.”
"Well, that's awfully kind of you to say. Thank you!"
open rp: My Name Is...
"Edith sound kind of cool."
"Do you think so? Really?"
open rp: My Name Is...
'What is yours?”
"Edith. Edith Crawley."
open rp: My Name Is...
"Why thank you. It is rather unusual, yes it is, rather cool."
"It's unique. I like that. Mine's rather boring and ordinary. But yes, yours is very cool!"
"Would you care to go to one?" he asked, flirty smile on his face. "Always good to go to a dance. Even in this stuffy English town. So Edith, care to accompany me to the dance?"
"Well!" Edith's pleasant smile widens a little, as a flattered laugh escapes from her lips. No one's ever asked to a dance before, and she's rather more pleased than perhaps she should be. "I would love to accompany you, Tom!"
+5 found the Abbey.
In her solitude, Edith was quick to notice the figure across the room, and as she took a step towards them she plastered a quick but genuine smile onto her face.
"Hello? New face, I see!"
+3 found the Abbey.
Very few things to get Edith through her article writing as quickly as was so often required. However, as she typed furiously onto her keyboard, licking off the remainder of the white icing which had wrapped around her fingers, she decided that a good, decent sized fairy cake was as good an incentive as any.
It took her a good while to notice the new figure, but as she did her eyes widened in a mix of surprise and delight, a smile finding her lips as she licked the rest of the icing from her fingers. "Sorry! I didn't see you there! Hello!"
((I just thought modern Edith would be a little easier for you lot to RP with. Hope that's okay! :) ))

"And no one cannot say that it’s not my name."
"Mister Clever? What an awfully strange name."
"I like it, rather."
A pleasure to meet you, too, Ms. Crawley. [Romana says pulling her hand back once they’ve shaken.] I wonder, [she starts carefully, clasping gloved hands behind her back and rocking on her heels] might I inquire as to where I am? This estate is gorgeous, [she adds for good measure, her gaze wandering out the window and about the perfectly manicure garden and closely trimmed lawn. The house itself was stunning. Far too big for one person, she thought vaguely. And, even as that thought passed through her mind,a servant paused in the door way, unsure whether or not to wait for them to vacate the room.]
Sorry m’lady, I thought this room was empty. [The young girl quipped looking sheepish.] I can come back later.
Oh, just Edith. Please. [Edith corrects her with a pleasant grin, studying her new acquaintance a little carefully as she furrows her brows. She does look awfully similar to her sister. Perhaps a cousin, though she would suspect such a close relative would know where they were. Her eyes follow the woman's gaze around the house surrounding them, the grin etched on her face becoming quite proud and flattered.] Well, I am very glad you think so. I've always been quite fond of it. I suppose. This is Downton, the Abbey, to be more precise. [She takes another look, of her own accord, around the room, but is distracted by the voice of the girl in the doorway, and upon recognizing it immediately she turns to her and shakes her head.] Oh, don't worry. It's perfectly alright. Come in.
+5 have found the Abbey.
"I’m afraid that is not what I mean, I do not know this house at all."
"You do not? How very odd..." Edith looked concerned for a moment, her brow furrowing a little. "This is Downton. The Abbey, to be precise. If you don't mind me asking, how did you get here if you don't know where you are?"
+5 have found the Abbey.
"Only truthful dear but you are very welcome."
"Very kind, Miss." Edith's lips had a pleasant curve to their edges as she spoke. "I'm sorry, I don't recall asking your name. How very impolite of me."
He looked at the house for a while longer, before clapping his hands together. “So, inside?”
Her lips curled into a smile as she nodded at his enthusiasm. "Inside. Yes."
He grins at her. “So what do you do for fun around here? You can’t just stay in a stuffy, uptight house can you?”
"Well." She chuckles slightly at his question. "You may have to get used our British ways! Though there are many things we can do. I tend to read a little, or take a walk in the village. And write! I'm a journalist, you see. Though there are often dances in the town hall, too. I haven't been to many..."
Mary? [Romana repeats, brow quirking, her eyes narrowing at the other woman.] My name is Romanadvoratrelundar. Or Romana. Either, will suffice. [There’s a tiny pause before she holds out a hand for her to shake.] It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss…? [By the expression lining the other’s face, Romana would hazard a guess that this woman knows someone that looks an awful lot like her.]
Romanadvoratrelundar. [Edith struggles for a moment to pronounce the woman's name back to herself, rolling it along her tongue to explore the oddness and originality of it. It's not a name she has come across before, or anything similar, for that matter, but she likes the unique sound it has.] What an extraordinary name! I'm simple Edith. Edith Crawley. [She hesitated for a moment before she shakes the woman's offered hand, still a little taken aback by her astonishing resemblance to Mary.] It is a pleasure to make yours too, Romana.
