Ilya Appreciation Week 2026 | Day 1: Favorite Moment
i see and respect your prince shane and knight ilya. however. consider that as a prince ilya would be very politically savvy and adept at courtly life, with all his charm and beauty. in his adult life, he finds courtly life very empty and meaningless, until knight shane is conscripted to serve as his personal guard and he reclaims some of that meaning. meanwhile, shane is doggedly devoted to ilya -- it's his calling as a knight after all -- until he realizes maybe his devotion extends further than just his duty.
of course, being a very charming and popular son is all well and good for ilya, until grigori becomes paranoid that ilya has enough sway to overthrow him. ilya would never do this, but grigori cannot be convinced otherwise. so he comes up with a plot to poison the carafe they're drinking from, knowing he has the antidote and ilya does not. what grigori doesn't know is that shane tests all food and drink before they ever touch ilya's lips. shane takes the poison meant for ilya and collapses in ilya's arms.
commence the prince of the realm sitting at the bedside of a lowly peasant. alexei tells ilya his behavior is uncouth and beneath him and ilya replies my love might die because of me. nothing is beneath me now.
i loooove little moments of human connection. i love it when a stranger has something good happen to them and you get to be a part of the celebration for a moment. i love it when it starts raining and you and a stranger get to say wow its really coming down out there! i love it when something happens and you and a stranger get to share a look. i will never see you again but we did experience something together and for just a moment we were a pair! i genuinely live for that shit
im having a real ilya day. he's literally thesweetie oh my fucking god i need him to have a good day forever and ever amen
happy birthday to my bisexual drama queen, biggest fake idgafer, sensitive caring boy, irina rozanova’s pride and joy, funniest comedian in the league, hockey’s rat king and supreme chirper ilya rozanov. i love you my captain.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ILYA ROZANOV! JUNE 15th, 1991 (insp)
While I understand the desire to make Big Art entirely and viscerally I think it's worth considering that small art often leaves an outsized impact on its audience. Short stories, teensy indie games, short films, sketches on scrap paper, carved or sculpted figures that would fit in the palm of your hand, etc. etc. are all things that, when they hit your psyche at just the right angle, can stay lodged in there forever specifically because they are small. It is not necessary for a thing to be sprawling for it to have impact.

everymorning: i think im about to die. i think im going to die. im actually going to die. this is it. im going to die. im going to die immediately.
every single night: lock in. OK. Lock In. Change your Life. I love you. Lock in. This is going to be big. I’m going to change the world. Ready? I love you. Lock in. I have an idea. Lock in.
your art style does not need a name your clothing style does not need to fit into a subcultural standard your feelings and experiences do not all need their own names and terminology
today is the ten year anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. a full decade ago, i lost a friend and a coworker. i was lucky. i had friends that lost several people. today, please remember and fight for all those that have died to live the life they should have been free to. i'll always remember you, Cory.

Not sure why it's a new trend among fic readers to assume if the fic has not been posted within the week it's inappropriate to comment on it, like the fic has to be hot out of the oven to give feedback for.
I got a comment on a fic that is less than a year old and it was mostly an apology for being a comment on an "old fic" and how late they were in commenting.
Just comment on the fic. Doesn't matter how old it is.
