The Perfect Explanation of Privilege – In One Powerful Punchline
“The Pencilsword” is a comic strip by Toby Morris, an illustrator from New Zealand. His most recent comic, “On a Plate” hits hard at the heart of the issues of concerning wealth and privilege.
How many times have you heard the “I’ve never been handed anything on a platter” argument in regard to social security and other social benefits?
Toby wrecks this argument by showing how two children can grow up, be loved and supported, and yet still have two very different outcomes.
Make sure to follow all the way to the end for the powerful punchline. This comic is an increasingly sad reality for far too many of this nation’s children and families.
Reblogged from the source since someone deleted the text at the bottom.

took a really really cool selfie
wore rad clothes and made someone think “damn i wish i owned that shirt”
were urself ! nice job!!
survived another year !! heck yeah, go Team You
so please don’t say that 2015 was “just another year wasted” when you have done all this. the good things don’t have to be huge to count.
I’ve been doing a series of comics about men being deceived by makeup.
This is the best comic series I’ve ever seen
I don't know who this is for but
He can still be sweet and be an abusive partner. He can still be charming and light up a room. Most of the abusive people I have known have had magnetic personalities. Don’t let the good things about a person distract you from the abuse even if you think the good outweighs the bad. Even if your relationship is good 95% of the time. Nobody should be putting their hands on you, nobody should psychologically harm you, nobody should hold you emotionally hostage. Threatening suicide is also abuse. Threatening self harm is also abuse. You dont owe abusers your loyalty. You are lovable. You are worthy of happiness without the sacrifice of sanity and peace. You will love and be loved again. I said he but I also mean she and they. You deserve the world! Don’t ever settle for less. I Iove you. 😘💕

: [HUMANS & HUMANITY]
The young guy sitting down was struggling with his tie. The woman in the red coat noticed, and asked ‘Do you know how to tie it properly?’ The young guy said ‘No ma'am.’ She taps her husband and says ‘Come to this side [her right side; he was standing on her left side] and teach this young man how to tie his tie.“
The older gentleman moved without hesitation [almost a reflex response] and gave him a step-by-step tutorial; then - afterward - the elder gentleman watched the young gentleman repeat the steps and show him that he had it.
I was some distance away (but close enough to hear the exchange), and got even closer to snap this candid photo of the tutorial in progress before hopping on the train. I LOVE THIS! END

My question is…why is it ok to treat women this way?
Saddest thing is, I wouldn’t even be surprised if a woman wrote this.
This changed my life
A Chicago police officer arriving at the scene of a domestic disturbance fatally shot two people on Saturday, including a 55-year-old mother of five who authorities said was “accidentally struck and tragically killed.”
In a statement released Saturday offering scant detail, Chicago police said they “were confronted by a combative subject” that resulted in “the discharging of the officer’s weapon.”
But the families of Bettie Jones, who had just hosted relatives for Christmas, and Quintonio LeGrier, 19, a college student home for holiday break, say police violently overreacted to a controllable situation.
Both individuals were pronounced dead at hospitals within an hour of being shot
“He wasn’t just a thug on the street, he was an honor student in college and high school,”
LeGrier’s mother, Janet Cooksey, told. “Seven bullets were put in my son. Seven.”
“Eight shots were fired,” she added tearfully. “One hit an innocent lady who was just opening her door. Something is wrong with this picture.”
He didn’t have a gun
Jones and LeGrier were black, but police have not revealed the race of the officer, according to the AP. The statement released by the department said the officers involved will be placed on administrative duties for 30 days while “training and fitness for duty requirements can be conducted.”
Janet Cooksey added: “You call the police, you try to get help and you lose a loved one. What are they trained for? Just to kill? I thought that we were supposed to get service and protection. I mean, my son was an honor student. He’s here for Christmas break, and now I’ve lost him.”
Quintonio LeGrier was shot in the buttocks, proving that he was turning away from officers when he was shot.
SOURCE
You see that it is not about serving or protecting but taking the opportunity to inflict their agenda on a populace that is defenseless and blindly faithful to principles in this country. Anyway, we must be woke about this and closely monitor the investigation. Lack of public attention may cause lack attention from the press and this may cause the opportunity to receive for #CPD go unpunished.
