“He didn’t apply for it, no. He was selected,” He answers, taking a sip of the water she brought for him before setting it back so that he can settle against the couch and turn toward her. “We’ve been on the hunt for someone suitable– and the things he’s doing at school, well, they’ve blown us away.“
He isn’t about to drop the kid in it, so he’ll play the game if it means he gets him on his team. Besides, Tony’s proficient when it comes to lying at this point in his life. It’s like second nature to him, almost sadly.
“He’s an amazing kid, he’s going to do great things. I’d like him to do great things with me helping him along.”
“Jesus,” Mabel couldn’t help but shake her head, laughing lightly. She was so proud of him! “Thank you -- I mean, seriously. You’re one of his idols! He’s going to lose his mind!”
“So, uh. While we wait for him to get here. What’s he going to have to do for these internships? Does he have to go on-site to one of your buildings?” Honestly, she was super jealous of her nephew right now. She’d (affectionately) torment him later. “Does he need any fancy equipment or something for home?”
digiitalis:
“You pushed at the door. It’s a security alarm.” Poor thing. Really, he did feel for her, but he also very much knew that they maybe had five minutes before the police were knocking, and he didn’t think she wanted to be arrested for trespassing and interrogated. He definitely didn’t, and he wasn’t going to leave her to take the fall.
“We need to leave before the police come. Can you stand?” Or would he need to carry her. He could, she wasn’t terribly large, but considering how frightened she was, he’d prefer to walk her out. Goodness, he really needed to plan better on sedative dosages. What if one of the security guards had been a small woman?
The police? But why would she leave? Weren’t the police there to help? Would she want to run from them? She wasn’t sure, but she also wanted to get away from here as soon as possible. After taking a shaky breath, Nari pressed herself to stand.
“Let’s go, please,” she said finally.

So my style has evolved a lot in a year and I wanted to redo an old art of mine.
Due to popular demand, here is the Typography Final comic that I did at VCUarts, originally posted over here as simple illustations. It was an informational comic about Autism.
Please take into consideration that this is based on my own experiences and is meant to be light-hearted and very basic. This is not an official medical guide to autism and was instead a theme to an art project rather than a medical study.
That being said, I hope you enjoy it none the less. Tbh I rushed it because finals are crazy lol

That’s fair, he supposes. Her next comment shouldn’t take Quentin by surprise, but somehow it does. Do you like Spider-Man? What an eager tone.
No. He doesn’t like Spider-Man. Not at all.
Robert Darko, however, does. “Sure, I like Spider-Man. He’s kept the city safe this long, hasn’t he?” Robert Darko is also somewhat of a healthy skeptic. Quentin peppers this in amongst Robert’s character traits. We can’t have him come off as an idealist. That’s too easy to take advantage of. “I feel like there are ways he could better cooperate with the police, though.”
A teasing smirk tugs at his thoughts. “You hate Spider-Man, don’t you?” A little sarcastic jab there. Quentin loves sarcasm too much to stop using it. Disguises be damned.
“What? No! I love him!” She didn’t get the sarcasm! She looked absolutely floored that he had even assumed such a thing. “I’ve met him before, too! We’ve had lunch a few times!”
His additional comment now processed, she shook her head: “No, he tries! He does! He even leaves little notes behind for them! Police just don’t like vigilantes because they feel incompetent in comparison!” That was more an opinion she read online than a fact, but she wholeheartedly believed it.
“Arthur, oh Arthur… you’re the only one of these fools who knows just how lost he is.” - Mary-Beth

Oh crap! He very nearly jumped to Nari’s aid! Fortunately, he was able to hold back as the chocolate bar lands on the ground. Jogging over to the girl, he laughs a little and shoots her an apologetic look.
“Hey, Nari! Sorry about that. Ned was just testing out his bot buddy! Looks like it needs some work.” He bends down to retrieve the candy before holding it out to her. “Here, take this as an apology for it nearly hitting you.” He would get Ned another one later.
Turning back to his best friend, he gestures him over. “We need to work on that flailing arm of his, but he’s super cool, Ned! And hey, this is Nari. I tutor her in Math every week. Remember I told you about her?”
He...he had told his friend about her? Nari had been caught off guard by Peter’s sudden appearance, but now she felt a little stunned. And excited! Eager, she accepted the chocolate bar. Because of course she would. Who wouldn’t?!
Ned collected Yeetbot and hurried over, too, just as she split the bar open and took a bite. She remained focused on said cand bar, though.
“Hey! Oh yeah, you did.” Whoa, wait. What? This Nari girl was pretty cute! Why didn’t Peter mention that? “Nice to meet you, Nari. Sorry about almost hitting you.”
“Oh, it’s okay!” She turned her gaze towards the robot in his hands, eyes widening as she recognized some of the pieces. “Wait, did you make those out of Legos?!”
“Uh, some of it!” Oh, right. He remembered Peter telling him she had a pretty thick accent. And that she really didn’t look people in the eyes, either. Weird. Ned offered it up to her. “It’s one of those Mindstorms kits. Here, want to take a look?”
“Can I?!” Nari wiped one hand on the side of her shirt to make sure it was clean of any melted chocolate before taking Yeetbot in hand. She had no idea what half of it was, but she was excited that she recognized the Legos! “I used to build with Legos all the time! This is so cool!” And she guessed he had made it throw things with the other parts.
Ah, she missed her Legos. She gave it back to him and turned her attention to Peter now. She even managed to look at him straight on for a bit!
“Oh, I was going to tell you next week -- but I passed my math test yesterday!” She was ecstatic! It wasn’t a high grade, but it wasn’t a fail, either! “It’s all thanks to you, Peter!”
starrymused:
“No way! Dude, that’s awesome!” YEETBot 2.0? What. A. Name. “Is that what you were tinkering around with the other day?” It definitely was because Ned screeched at him like a baby pterodactyl every time he tried to sneak a peek!
“Let’s go then!” He was already grabbing his back and throwing it over a shoulder. “How lightweight are we talking here? Leaves? Twigs?” He gasps. “Will it be able to fetch us snacks?” If not, then they could always upgrade it! He could salvage a few parts from that old boombox he found the other day and see what he could use!
“It managed to lift a chocolate bar the other day!” Ned claimed proudly. “So yeah, snack delivery is imminent, bro!”
~
About an hour later, the two of them had found a moderately open space in Central Park to start testing Yeetbot. Ned put him down on the asphalt, alongside a candy bar he’d been saving for this very moment. Then he stepped back and motioned for Peter to do the same.
“Okay, Yeetbot 2.0,” he spun a dial and flipped a switch. Then adjusted the directional pad; the little robot spun slowly until it had rotated to face said candy bar. Then it approached, leaned over -- and then reached out a little metal claw, which just barely grasped the plastic wrapper corner. “All right now, just -- gently --- “
Ned said that, but even as he gently pressed the button for Yeetbot to lift, its arm whipped back and sent the chocolate bar flying! (Well, now it was clear as to why it was called Yeetbot!) Ned, already somewhat anticipating this, turned in the direction it was flying -- “Hey! Heads up!”
When Peter looked to see who his best friend was shouting at, though, his eyes met with the figure of a familiar face. Nari! She looked up in surprise and gave a little squeak of terror -- but fortunately, the candy bar landed only at her feet.
She stared at it for a moment before looking back at her ‘attackers’ --
“--Peter?!”
starrymused:
He did enjoy seeing her this way compared to her being a little shy of him. Peter had figured that there was definitely a reason for that. Either way, he liked Nari and wanted to get to know her better.
“Yeah, I— Oh, darn. I forgot I have to go check on something today. Something happened and…” He waves his hand. “It’s a long story, but I’ll catch up with you soon, okay?” Even if he couldn’t really talk about himself, they could still spend time together.
“See you later, Nallie!” Yep. He couldn’t pronounce her name right even though he now knew how. It would make her suspicious. Still, it made him feel like a bit of a jerk.
—
“What have you got behind your back there?” He narrows his eyes and tries to peek around Ned to whatever cool gadget he had gotten a hold of. “Come on, man, let me see!”
“Wait, wait, wait, Peter!” Ned held up a hand to block his spying eyes. “It’s all in the reveal! You can’t rush this!”
And then he grinned and showed it immediately anyway:
“Feast your eyes on -- !!!!” He brought out a small mechanical creature, half made of wires and electrical parts, and the other half of Lego pieces. “YEETBot 2.0! There wasn’t a 1.0, but 2.0 always sounds cooler. I based it off of my Mindstorms sets template, but then added my own stuff! So he moves, can pick up really lightweight things, AND he plays music! I hooked in my Mom’s old iPod first generation to do that. Now he’s like a walking, talking robot badass with a soundtrack! Let’s get to the park where there’s some more open room and I can show him in action!”
starrymused:
“Nah, someone gave it to me.” He didn’t have the expertise to make a suit of this quality. However, maybe with the time, resources, and proper mentoring, he would be able to work his way up to making something like this in the future.
“I’m happy with it!” And he was amused to see Nari look so happy, too. “Maybe now I won’t overheat. That old one got so hot sometimes. Felt like I was in a furnace!”
Someone gave it to him? Hm! Well, she guessed if he didn’t name them, he probably wouldn’t answer if she asked more about it. See! She was smarter already now that she was in tutoring!
“Oh, I can imagine!” She bounced on her toes, lively and animated; it was an intense contrast to how she was in school. It was so much easier to relax and be herself when she was alone, or in this case, just talking one-on-one with someone. “I missed you, but I’m glad you’re all right! I’ve seen a lot of videos of you on YouTube lately. Do you have some time to hang out?”
