The reality is far more nuanced than that. But the propaganda plays well with the ignorant. These bills are typically not bi-partisan and are ostensibly labeled as one thing but which contain poison pill provisions that the opponent cannot support, so that the proponent can demonize the opposition when they vote against it.
Get a straightforward vote on most of those issues without the added poison components and they would have broad support.
As for "assault rifles"...Congress has no authority under the Constitution to ban them in the first place (same for requiring background checks), so anyone voting FOR a ban is actually violating their oath of office. Seeing that 99% correctly voted AGAINST it was listed as allegedly a "wrong" vote sure casts a different light on the rest of the list. 🤔 #2A
