She had just wanted to ask Elias if she could crash at his place, since she wasn’t ‘welcome’ at Randal’s.

                He’s seething, actively refusing to service any customers as his knuckles turn stark white against the receiver. ‘ What ??  you give him your greyhound ticket for safe keeping ??      -- It is my business. ‘ He paused, closing his eyes for a minute. God, he didn’t remember the last time he’d been so fucking mad. Probably not since the jail cell -- && even that was nothing compared to this.

               He scoffed, although soon enough his hands were clamped         around her waist, practically tossing her small frame up onto the         counter.    ‘ That better ?? ‘ he asked, holding back laughter as         each of his palms rest against the edge of the surface, next to either of         her legs.
