An Open Letter to all our followers

Hello, everyone.

We thought long and hard whether or not to share this because it has never been a goal of our blog to publicly demonize anyone, especially our fellow fans. But to us, this post feels more like a much needed rant in face of an outrageous situation we’ve experienced over the course of this past week. We simply didn’t know how to get this horrible feeling of injustice off our chests if not by sharing it.

As most of you already know at this point, we run a large video library with pretty much every Omelia clip out there (scenes of pretty much every episode featuring Amelia and Owen plus interviews, BTS, etc.) It’s a hard and long process to keep that channel running. We have an amazing, incredibly talented and dedicated fan who is so invested in making the channel what it is that every week after the episodes airs, she gets the iTunes version and devotes her time to editing & cutting each scene to upload to our channel.

Now, there are a few reasons why we get the iTunes file: One, it’s legal. Two, it’s not branded. So if you check our channel you’ll see that our clips don’t have the “abc” or “ctv” logo on them. That is also why we don’t add our own watermark to these clips: the images they contain don’t belong to us. We might own the edition, but we don’t own the content of the videos. Other channels or blogs might enjoy putting a tag on their work and that’s fine, it’s a choice, it’s just not one we feel comfortable with.

That being said, a while ago we were faced with an unusual situation. A fellow Youtube channel that is very well known amongst our fandom just happened to be coincidentally uploading episode clips and the same interviews as us hours or a day after we did. Even more incredibly, the length of each scene was exactly the same as ours. Even though we know that most scenes are short, it caught our attention that the edition was always absolutely identical. And on top of it all, those same clips had watermarks added to them. The very own logo of the channel who allegedly did not go through the trouble of getting the episode, extensively editing and cutting and then uploading these clips for the Omelia audience to watch them, but rather most likely had downloaded them from our channel without our permission, tagged them and passed them off as their own.

Happy Halloween

Halloween is one of my most favorite times of the year, and sadly I didn’t do anything this year and I’m kinda bummed. So this is what y'all are getting for that. Happy Halloween!!

Amelia watched as her four year old daughter scoured the aisles for a costume at the last minute.

“Did you pick one yet, baby?” The little girl with strawberry blonde curls finally shook her head yes and Amelia smiled. “Which one?” She asked.

The little girl smiled and pointed to the rack of costumes. “The unicorn one! Like bubba!” She grinned.

Amelia could physically feel her heartbeat miss one or two beats. Ever since Adelyn found the unicorn stuffed animal in the back of Amelia’s closet, she hadn’t stopped asking about it and her older brother. It was only fitting she would want to dress up as her older brother whom Amelia dubbed her unicorn.

“Are you going to take me trick-or-treating again, this year, daddy?” He asked. The man shook his head. “No, little man. But uncle Derek will. Get your costume together, he’ll be here soon with Uncle Mark and Aunt Lexie and probably grandpa too.” He spoke.

The boy ran back to his room and grabbed his costume out of his closet. There were a lot of perks to Heaven, it had everything he could ever want—almost.

Ryan walked into his son’s room a few moments later and helped secure the wig underneath the cap and laid a stethoscope around his son’s shoulders. “You look great, little man.” He said to his eight year old.

There was a knock at the door and little Ryan ran to open it. “Uncle Derek! Uncle Mark! Aunt Lexie!” He greeted.

“Hey, little man.” Derek greeted, patting the boy’s head. “Dressed as your mom again, this year?” He laughed.

“Derek, you told him to dress as a superhero and she’s his favorite one.” Mark said, standing up for his ‘nephew’.

“And she’s a real superhero.” Lexie commented, taking the boy’s hand. “Tell your dad goodbye and you’ll be back later.” She instructed. Ryan ran back into the house to say goodbye.

“Aunt Lex, Uncle Mark, Uncle Derek, did you know momma finally told Addy about me? She said she was old enough now and I saw them earlier. Addy is going as a unicorn this year.” Ryan told his aunt and uncles.

Lexie squeezed his hand tighter and Derek gave him a side-hug. “She’s going as her favorite superhero too, I guess.” Derek commented.

“Mommy, are you ready to go yet?” Adelyn whined, tugging her mom’s hand. Amelia nodded.

“I am, little unicorn. Let’s go trick-or-treating.” She said. “Happy Halloween, my unicorn.” She smiled.

Ryan looked down and smiled. “Happy Halloween, mommy.”
