Welcome to the Pages' Journey Tumblr blog! This is a place for us to connect with the divination community, answer questions, and share updates about the project throughout its development.
You can visit us on our Neocities website for information, resources, FAQs, and more. Our list of goals and in-progress features is right on the homepage. Please keep in mind that the site is a work in progress! Nothing you see is 100% final yet.
Contributor applications are now open! If you're interested in contributing to the site (your thoughts on a tarot card, a guide on your favorite niche divination method, a historical article, or something entirely different!), click here for more information.
FAQ:
What is the Pages' Journey?
The Pages' Journey is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit, community-based project by and for diviners.
This project's goal is to provide high-quality divination resources, have interesting discussions about divination, and share unique perspectives on the subject of divination. We want to be the go-to place for learning divination as a beginner or deepening knowledge as an advanced practitioner.
We don't just want to give you the basics. Our ultimate goal is to help every diviner take their divination practice to the next level. Not just rote memorization but real understanding unique to each person. We want our resources to help you form a divination practice that's effective for you and to encourage you to expand your horizons, not to get you to conform to our idea of what's "correct."
The Pages' Journey was started out of frustration with divination resources currently available. They're so often lacking in advanced techniques and information, pushing AI features that do your thinking for you, trying to get you to pay for extra features or classes that you don't really need, or refusing to take a hard stance against bigotry.
This project aims to do better. The Pages' Journey is a project by and for the community. No ads, no paywalls, no bullshit - forever. The Pages' Journey is an anti-racist, pro-queer, anti-capitalist project. We believe in supporting minorities without fear. Fascists, neo-Nazis, bigots, and those who support them - whether explicitly or by complicit behavior - are not welcome in our spaces.
Who's behind this blog?
'Tis I, Aese of Spades ( @aesethewitch )! I started the Pages' Journey, created the website, and manage the project in general.
There are, of course, other people involved in the project! Many of my friends have offered their thoughts, time, and expertise to the project. Contributors will eventually all be listed on the About Page on our website, complete with bios and where you can find them on the internet.
Why the Pages' Journey?/Don't you mean the Fool's Journey?
Pages can be thought of as the Fools of their suits. They represent youth, naivete, energy, curiosity, and so much more. They're the youngest of the court cards and hold high hopes for the future and for their element's potential.
Our aim is to be the Pages, always learning and striving endlessly toward the next page of our stories. We want to be a trustworthy resource for other Pages - perhaps you - to inspire you to think and learn beyond lists of keywords. That's why the apostrophe is where it is. This isn't any one person's project or effort. It's all of us together: collaborating and communicating.
Also, it makes for wonderful website-related puns. Our Pages writing pages on our webpage.
I want to get involved and/or contribute!
We welcome folks of all skill levels to get involved with this project. Please visit our Contributors Page over on our website for details about how to volunteer for the project.
We may eventually have places to discuss the project such as a Tumblr Community, Discord server, or even forums, but those are things for the future.
Please Note: Our current priority is getting information about tarot in place, but we would eventually love to have resources for other kinds of divination, too! If you're experienced in a particular kind of divination, please feel free to send an ask or DM, or send an email to [email protected] about it! And be sure to follow us and/or keep an eye on the website to see when we put the call out for them!
How can I support the project?
First of all, thank you for considering supporting this project! We aren't currently looking for donations or monetary contributions, and all of the work going into the Pages' Journey is 100% volunteer based.
Instead, please consider sharing our links and resources as they become available! Talk about the project! Send in questions, volunteer to contribute, and make suggestions for new content and improvements to the website! You can also follow this blog for news, updates, and calls to action.
Hello! Terribly sorry for the radio silence on this project -- I've had to prioritize time and energy elsewhere for the last several months. However, I'm officially picking the Journey back up!
The form to become a contributor has been updated with the most recent card claims. I've emailed folks who have made claims, and I'll be following up with folks I haven't heard from in a while to make sure they're still interested in the cards they've called dibs on.
I'm hoping to have the roadmap page up sometime this weekend. I'm also resuming work on the Minor Arcana pages' basic descriptions and card combinations, finally.
Once we're fully back in the swing of it, I want to put out a bigger State of the Journey update, but I figured I'd signal to folks still following this blog/project that YES it's alive, I've just been elsewhere. <3
Hi, folks! This update's a quick but exciting one:
Our first contributor pieces are up on the website!! @jasper-pagan-witch nabbed the Lovers and the Devil for this first round of entries. They wrote one piece for both cards, comparing the cards from Jasper's unique POV. Here's an excerpt:
Look at the Lovers card. Look where the two human figures are looking. The man is looking at the woman, while the woman is looking up at the angel. All three figures are frowning. They are separate, both in physical space and where their attention is going. This is not a partnership, but the illusion of a partnership. [...] Now look at the Devil card. The two figures are ensnared in vices which they can leave - look at how loose those chains are - but choose not to, like how most people enjoy their particular vices. [...] They are more united here than they were in their own card, yet the focus is not on them; it is on the being behind them...
It's so good. Many thanks to Jasper for this awesome contribution!!
If you have Thoughts and Opinions about tarot cards that you'd like to share on the Pages' Journey, take a couple minutes to fill out this form! We'd love to feature you!! If you have questions about the form and/or the project, feel free to send an ask, DM, or email to [email protected].
The Major Arcana card pages are officially as done as I can make them currently!!! I've added card combinations (ideas/suggestions for how cards might interact to form meanings) to every card, both upright and reversed. And I took some time this afternoon to create a new <div> element for the tarot card pictures so they'll display nicely on all devices!
Now, all we need are contributors' thoughts...! Some cards have already been claimed, but most are still up for grabs! I've already got one draft in my hands for the Lovers and the Devil that is just so good. I'm very excited to share it once it's ready to be published.
I've also had a bunch of really great suggestions for future site additions and articles, so thank you!!
(Also, I made this new header image - I'm not super happy with my editing job, but I can always take another swing at it later. I like it enough to keep it for now!)
After much waiting, we now have a form available for folks who are interested in writing a piece for the Pages' Journey website!!!
For folks who haven't seen this blog before or who haven't heard me (Aese) ramble on and on about this website for the last year-ish, here's the brief introduction (with a link to our whole about page):
The Pages' Journey is a collaborative project with the goal of providing free, ad-free, high-quality learning and reference materials to diviners of all skill levels and backgrounds. We believe that divination is a tool that anyone can learn given time and the right resources.
And YOU can help us achieve that goal by asking questions and submitting your thoughts, theories, and opinions to the site!
Here are some details about what we're looking for RIGHT NOW:
Please make sure you read our contributor guidelines before submitting an application!!
"Other Perspectives" for Tarot Card Profiles:
Share your unique tarot thoughts! We're collecting contributions for our tarot profiles that offer alternative insights into each card. You can use any deck for your contribution. You may be asked for a clear photo of the card to accompany your interpretation if we don't have access to the deck. Entries must be at least 300 words and preferably no more than 850 words, with an absolute upper limit of 1,000 words.
Our goal is to eventually have two to three alternative interpretations for each card, but we want to have at least one per card before adding more. Openings are first-come, first-served, and cards will be removed from this list as they're claimed. If you select a card that someone else has already claimed, you'll have the option to choose a replacement OR be first in line for that card in the second round. You will receive an email from [email protected] confirming which cards you'll be writing for either way.
You can select up to three cards to write for in this first round. Once we have a full set, we'll open up another round of claims. (If you want first dibs on the second round and/or other opportunities as they come up, make sure you check "yes" to the question about whether you'd like to receive emails in the future!)

Misc. Articles about Divination:
Do you have thoughts and opinions about divination? Have you done an inordinate amount of study on a particular divination topic? Have you been ruminating on an extremely specific divination-related theory for a while and feel a deep desire to share those thoughts? Do you have deep opinions about one specific tarot card that wouldn't fit under the word count cap on the tarot profiles? Would you like to ramble to likeminded individuals who are eager to hear about your divination opinions and interests?
Well, we want to see it! This is a permanent, unlimited offer to anyone who is interested in having their thoughts published right here on the Pages' Journey website. You'll find space to pitch your idea on the standard form under the "Other Suggestions" heading.

Questions from the Community:
If you've got questions, we want to answer them. Whether you're a divination beginner looking for advice on getting started or improving your skills, an adept diviner seeking new ways to think about divination, or a curious mind wanting to pick someone's brain about a particular topic, send us your questions! These Q&As will be published every so often in our site blog and over on Tumblr. If your question is particularly intriguing, it may warrant its own separate article!
For these questions, please do not fill out the regular form. Instead, please send an email to [email protected] OR an ask or DM to @thepagesjourney on Tumblr! Please be sure to indicate whether you'd like your question to be anonymous or not - we'd like to credit you if we can, or even tag you for the Tumblr posts so you can see our answers!

I planned on opening contributor applications today, but something strange has happened to the website's code - it's appearing in a warped mobile view no matter what device it's on. This is something that needs fixing before anything else, so I'm delaying opening this up until it's fixed. Sorry about that!
Okay, I think it's fixed! Something got a little screwy in the JS file for the layout, and it was an easy enough fix once I managed to find the culprit. I was worried it was going to be something worse!! Thankfully not!

A few weeks ago, I posted a brief update about where this project is at, where it's going, and a few upcoming events. Now that the Major Arcana card descriptions are finished, I thought it would be wise to give a more detailed update about the project and what's going to be happening in the next few weeks!
This post contains:
Contributor Applications Opening Feb 1, 2026
Website content updates & upcoming goals
Basic information about the "This Month's Feature" section
(You can read a better-formatted version of this post on the Pages' Journey website.)
Contributor Applications Opening February 1, 2026
Yes! Contributor applications are going to be opening in just a couple days!! My priority right now is getting the "Contributor Insights" portion of specifically the Major Arcana set up, but Dibs for all tarot cards are going to be opening at the same time.
The way this is going to work is in a series of "rounds." In the first round, you'll be able to call Dibs on up to three tarot cards of your choice to write about. This will be between roughly 300 and 850 words describing your unique take on the card(s), which can be from any tarot deck you like.
The goal is to eventually have two to three alternative interpretations for each card, but we want to have at least one per card before adding more. Openings are going to be first-come, first-served, so if there's a particular card you want, you'll want to claim it early. If you select a card that someone else has already claimed, you'll have the option to choose a replacement OR be first in line for that card in the second round.
In the second round, you'll be able to choose a certain number of cards also, but that number hasn't been decided yet. It's going to depend on turnout for the first round! If we get a lot of folks wanting to submit entries, slots for the second (and perhaps third) round will be quite limited.
If you're not interested in writing for the tarot profiles, still check out the form when it goes up! There are going to be fields for submitting pitches or ideas for blog posts, articles, article series, guides, features, or whatever else you think would be a good fit for this project. You can say it's something you want to create yourself OR add it to our general pool of available opportunities.
There won't be any general opportunities up for grabs for the time being. I'd still like to get all of the basic profiles completely done before opening those up. However, there will be an option on the form to opt in to receive emails so you're first in line for all new opportunities as they come up. It's sort of like a newsletter - emails once a month or once every couple months with openings that are up for grabs.
Tarot Card Profiles
As mentioned, as of today, all 22 of the Major Arcana profiles now exist on the site! All of them have basic descriptions, though several are missing the "Card Combos" sections. I plan on working through those in the next few days.
Next up is the suit of Wands! My goal is to have all of the basic profiles finished before the Spring Equinox. As I finish these pages, I'll be adding contributor insights to them if I already have them in hand.
Roadmap
And speaking of what's next up, one of my more immediate goals is to create a comprehensive roadmap to define the project's goals more clearly. We've got the task list on the homepage, but I'd really like to have something more concrete to help structure plans and timelines. My aim is to have at least a basic one sketched out and published by February 7.
The task list on the homepage will most likely be transitioned to be more like a "current task" or "current focus" section with a link to the full roadmap.
Requests & Opinions Wanted!
In order to create a roadmap that actually makes sense and a resource that's actually useful, I'd very much like to have the community's input! One of the big goals for this website is to provide the resources and discussions people actually want and need. I know what I would want, but what do you want? What would you like to see? What do you find is lacking on existing divination/tarot resource websites and apps? What would make this a resource worth using?
The official form will have space for this, but please don't feel pressured to fill it all out if you just have a quick idea to share! You can send an ask to this blog or an email to [email protected]. No suggestion is too big or small, and there are no "stupid" questions or suggestions. I'm keeping track of everything folks toss this way. If it's feasible to do, I'll try to make it happen!
This Month's Feature(s)
I'll provide more details about this section on the homepage in a separate post later on, but I'd like to share some basics now for folks who may be interested.
Often, this section will showcase content on our website - our latest articles, shout-outs to contributors, new updates, and the like. Other times, the features will be from the community! This is a space to boost links by and for the community. That includes divination businesses, Kickstarters for divination tools, other useful divination resources, and more.
If you're interested in being featured or having a particular link, business, or project featured, please stay tuned! The guidelines for this are still in vitro.
More to Come!
I appreciate everyone who's shown interest in the project thus far! Eventually, I'll be looking for folks to help manage the project - particularly with running the Tumblr blog. For now, though, it's still small enough for me to handle on my own! Please stay tuned for more news, updates, and exciting features to come.
Hi folks! Since things have been radio silent Tumblr-side, I wanted to share a couple of updates about the Journey, where we're at, and what the most immediate goals are.
(And if you have no idea what this blog is talking about, peep at the pinned post on this blog or visit the main website for details!)
Tarot Card Profiles Update
With the holidays and my health, I've had to put this project on the back burner, but I'm officially back at it again! I've published up to the Hanged Man for the profiles. The latest ones need card combination examples, but I like to do those live on stream to get input on the different variations. Plus, doing them live lets me explain my thought process, which is always fun.
Once I have the Major Arcana done, I'll be moving right along to the four suits. I may request assistance with these depending on how close to my self-imposed deadline things get!
Timeline Information
I'd really like to have all of the basic profiles done and published by the Spring Equinox this year. That way, I can move on to the parts of this project that I'm really excited about!!
In the next couple of weeks, I'd really like to build out a sort of roadmap to help define the project's goals and lay out expectations. Even though this is a passion project, I want to keep everything organized and making sense! This will especially help for the future if/when other folks come onboard to manage the project with me.
Contributors Wanted... Soon!
An official post will go up once I have all of the infrastructure in place, but I'm going to be putting out the call for contributor pieces soon! To start, I'll mostly be looking for alternate tarot card perspectives/interpretations. However, I'll also be accepting suggestions for pieces on subjects like divination history, other divination types, tarot spreads, and more.
If you're already interested in contributing something to the site, please feel free to reach out. You can read about the basics of contributing over on the website, or you can send an email to [email protected] to ask questions and/or make specific requests, suggestions, or an offer to write something for the site.
Requests Wanted... Now!
One of the big goals for this website is to provide the resources and discussions people actually want and need. I know what I (Aese) would want, but what do you want? What would you like to see? What do you find is lacking on existing divination/tarot resource websites and apps? What would make this a resource worth using?

Future Updates
To keep myself on task, I plan on publishing updates at least once every two weeks or whenever something important happens. News will be published here on this blog and also on the website, so stay tuned.
