pro-tip: your blog is about you. be self-indulgent, self-absorbed, and self-possessed. go all in on your obsessions. this is a work of self-expression, a living monument to your heart.

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen (2026)
something very bad is going to happen is the example of romance as horror that everyone is looking for. what if you fell in love and it was the worst thing that could happen to you. what if the only thing that will happen to you now is an agonizing death. or death for your soon to be family. what if love has haunted your bloodline like a spectre of death
maybe real soulmates are the people you met along the way of finding out the generational curse you have to escape from and the recorded history of your family tree while convincing yourself the guy you’re marrying is the one

I love the Nell × Rachel × Jules dynamic, but I really feel like Nell and her belief in them is so underrated and underexplored. In the second episode, when Victoria is giving her brunch speech, she mentions how being married to the wrong person is like being anchored to a shipwreck as the camera cuts to Nell and Jules. Obviously, this is an implied negative, but as the season goes on, you see how much Nell actually is Jules', and later Rachel's, tether to the ground. Rachel and Jules are mirrors of each other - of how trauma can cause your intuition to be hypervigilant, sometimes for the best and sometimes for the worst - but Nell is their anchor. In episode five, when Jules is getting obsessed over the inconsistencies of Rachel and Nikky's story, it's Nell who takes him aside and gets him out of his head. She helps him refocus, and while she does end up helping him, her presence and support are stabilizing to him. The same can be said for Nell and Rachel! At the rehearsal dinner, when she senses Rachel's unease, she pulls her aside and gives Rachel a place to breathe. In episode seven, when Rachel is pure chaos trying to create the soulmate potion, it's Nell who she confides in, and it's Nell who tells her that losing herself to become Nikky's soulmate is not worth it. Nell is the one who can help Jules and Rachel take a moment to get out of their heads and just breathe. She is that anchor.
That's fucked-up.
