why is it that I’m the one who always has to message first to start a conversation with people who are suppose to be my friends and writing partners and if I don’t message first, i don’t hear from them for weeks or months. etc.

it really does little to encourage positivity in a person, instead it feels more like putting a torch in their hand and going “Burn that bridge.”.

Sometimes i really just dont understand people.

When you're dating someone, you're suppose to be able to be their support system, be there to help them. Through sickness and health should apply even outside of marriage.

Tips for avoiding assholes on tumblr 101.

sideblogs for rp blogs are hard to do some of these tips so i will try to come up with some nice tips for sideblog specific later. [specifically there’s like one tip that won’t come in handy because its not available in the sideblog settings] [ill do some for mobile later as well when i become more familiar with mobile options, but pc / laptop is the focus atm]

Tip #1: Turn your post replies to a setting comfortable for you. this means people clicking on the little dialogue bubble at the bottom of a post and adding a comment to it. you can find this setting in your edit appearance page.

Tip #2: Turn OFF anon asks, and do not advertise in public posts that your anon askbox is on or off. Let people discover this themselves.

Tip #3: TURN OFF MESSAGING FOR NON MUTUALS. this will help you avoid getting dm’s from blogs that are block evading.

Tip #4: Use a combination of Xkit rewritten, New xkit and statcounter. I’ve discovered that xkit rewritten doesn’t always cover everything that new xkit still functions on. using a combo of these three have been the best option in my personal experience. Statcounter is one of the best ways ive used that allows me to see the IP addresses and locations of people viewing my pages.

Tip #5: if you have physical evidence [screenshots undoctored, witnesses, etc] that someone is harassing you/suicide baiting you/etc, Don’t rely on your community to witch hunt for you. Go through the appropriate channels such as tumblr staff or even legal authorities for the location. A lot of countries, states, etc have laws that make cyber bullying and suicide baiting illegal.

Tip #6: be heavy handed with that permanent block button.
