{ CAMP HALF-BLOOD }
it's short as hell i know. i might expand on this, or some of these, later on. also the beginning is inspired by my science class, in which a literal third of the class are my Challenge classmates.
The boys played around on the first day, leaving Melissa and Selena to stare ahead, trying not to laugh. When their teacher came in, Melissa thought about telling him that she felt sorry for him with them in the same class, but decided not to, not wanting to risk getting moved.
Mel and Bren had eighth period English together, sitting together too. He always waited for her, and after the bell, they went to their lockers and got on the bus together.
I don't fuckin know I just wanted something vaguely interesting so I could get caught up. also hahaha i'm not fucking writing in Shakespearean English fuck no.
so this one i can continue on, especially cause i gave up on it before i even started. i've got a scene writing itself in my head.
No one quite knew who the red-headed young woman who lived at the edge of town was. She lived with the Avenells, and had been there for years. The Avenells were a respected family, but she spoke to no one and no one spoke to her.
Some whispered of witchery, that she had tricked her way into the Avenell's home. Because it was just whispers, the whole thing was ignored. Mostly.
But for Bren, it was different.

One day, near the start of fall, he was out collecting kindling in the woods, when a bright color caught his eye.
Melissa was sitting against a tree, staring into space. She seemed so involved with her own thoughts, he almost didn't bother speaking. But the look in her face made him stop to talk.
"You're Melissa, right?"
She looked up at him, blinking slowly.
"That's me."
He sat beside her gingerly, deliberatly not thinking about what he was doing.
"So what are you doing out here all alone?"
And it went from there.
By the time they even thought about how long they had spent talking, it was nearly dark.
They went their seperate ways, panicking at the time, but promising to speak again, and soon.
I like this one a whooole lot better. I left it open-ended intentionally cause HAHAHA FUCK YOU. Idk man I love cliffhangers. also a bit of Mels's backstory because yeaaaah my favorite original character besides Mel yeaah
"Shit, Brem, what took you so long?"
He came in hurriedly, eyes wide.
"It's fucking crazy out there, Mel. I... I don't think we could make it down to Camp."
She sank onto the couch, sighing deeply.
"Fuck, that's our only option. We have to get down there to find out what's going on!"
He sat beside her, putting his arms around her. He didn't bother speaking for a while, too lost in his own thoughts.
"Did you try Iris-messaging them again? Once you got back?"
"'Course. Still nothing...."
They sat silently, taking comfort in each other.
"I think we should at least try, Bren. Hotwire a car. I'd rather die trying then sit here and wait for anything to happen."
He sighed, and buried his face in her hair, tightening his hold on her.
"You know I don't like the idea of that. And- wait, hold on, where in the world did you learn how to hotwire cars?"
She laughed at his question, lacing his fingers with hers.
"Daughter of Hermes, you dumb. And, well, I picked up a few too many things from Vex."
He grew serious, shaking his head.
"But I'm willing to go along with it, Mel. Doesn't mean I like it, but I am really worried about the others."
note: I don't like this, I think it sucks. But anyways. day one is posted on day two, and so on. I'll really try to keep it on schedule, like, really try, I promise. Also I just went with Bren being a Hufflepuff because yolo. If he's not, tell me, I'll change it. :) also i don't actually know if healing potions are a thing in the HP universe but again, yolo
"Mel. That Hufflepuff boy is looking at you."
The last word was stretched out teasingly, Melissa blushing furiously.
"Shut up, Vex, he is not."
Melissa avoided looking at anyone as she continued with the lesson, especially Professor Snape. Her potions were never the greatest, unfortunately for her.
"Time."
She winced, hoping her work wouldn't elicit a comment. Their teacher went along the rows, passing judgement on most, if not all, the students. When he got to Melissa, she kept her head down.
"Tell me, Nekane, what are you trying to heal with this, an ant?"
Melissa sighed, not responding. He moved on from her, to the Hufflepuffs across the aisle.
"Galloway?"
The blond boy snapped his head up, looking to the professor.
"Sir?"
"Sit with Nekane from now on, she obviously needs your talent."
He nodded, gathering his things, coming to the empty seat beside Melissa.
Brushing the hair out of his eyes, he waved a little at her, awkwardly.

Imagine your OT3 in a car going home. However, A and B decide to sing the most annoying, catchy pop song they know, to pass the time. Person C, who is driving, gets so annoyed that they make A and B get out of the car, and then drives off, leaving the other two to walk home.

(This is REALLY IMPORTANT because with Cecil you’re either cool or you’re Steve Carlsberg/Apache tracker/Telly the barber and God forbid you end up a Telly.)
I'd probably be tracking something and stumble across Night Vale! I have a feeling Cecil would like Bren more than me, so they could just derp together. I would get along better with Carlos.
