Unfinished paintings. I wanted to take a long overdue moment to thank the lovely @roarie_yum for modeling and the generosity of @dswinskey for kindly taking reference photos for me. Ultimately, I didn't feel right persuiting this way of working as it wasn't going to be unsustainable and the end results would only feel mediocre at best to me. As one of my few living heroes, Genesis P-Orridge ( @pandrogyne ) says, ”Its a sin to support mediocrity.” Especially in myself, I'll add. I am at best trying to imitate better figure painters. So I began to study and have found new ideas that while they may not be as well received as my previous body of work, they will be true to the way I see the world and imbued with meaning. It's time to start rehabbing my hands with drawing to recover some fine motor control lost to neurological conditions. I really enjoyed reading @carl.abrahamsson ’s essay ”Pokemon Go Away” from his book, Occulture. (chapter 5) It packed a few personal synchronicities and was super inspiring.

Started playing around with #digitalcollage to make #painting reference. I'm going to have to print some pieces out as I progress with these to get the #textures I want, then photograph the #photograph putting it back into #photoshop perhaps manipulating it in other ways. In order to show the flatness of the #collage (to look like an #oilpainting OF a college, you'll see...) Anyhow this is me just sketching some ideas for the #head of a #modern rendition of #kali
