they died of dragon pox sometime after james and lily got married, but before harry was born, so between 1978 - 1980.
and now I wonder what would have happened if bamf Euphemia Potter raised Harry with the other bamf Fleamont Potter.
he would have been even MORE spoiled than james
harry still would have grown up in a loving household?? not wanting for anything?
he would have known every embarrassing detail of his parents courtship, as euphemia calls it, down to the time she caught them doing ‘inappropriate things’ behind the library
he’ still have a saving people thing
sunday dinners with his uncles because sirius never would have gone to prison
sirius would take harry to every quidditch match
harry + ron would split their holidays between the burrow + his grandparents’ house

Let me point out the “Sirius would have never gone to prison” bit…
Because Euphemia Potter would have NEVER allowed that to happen. How dare ANYONE accuse her son of betraying his brother. Euphemia Potter would have caused a damn uproar at the ministry demanding a trial and getting the best Wizarding Law Represtation money could buy. She’d also smack both Sirius and Remus upside the head for treating each other so shitty.
