As Charlie Adamo in Machine Gun McCain (1969)
Very very cool, rare find. A kinescope episode of the short-lived series, The Witness, in which an actor playing a real life historical figure (usually a person who is believed to have engaged in criminal activity) is questioned by a team of attorneys with witnesses called to testify.
Here, Peter Falk plays gangster Abe "Kid Twist" Reles, the same character he played in Murder, Inc. The movie was released on June 28, 1960 and this episode aired on December 22, 1960. This episode goes into a bit more detail with certain facts than the movie.
Robin and the 7 Hoods soundtrack album. Peter as Guy Gisborne sings "All For One and One For All".
As Abe Reles aka "Kid Twist" in Murder, Inc. (1960). Although it was made very cheaply with mostly unknowns and off-Broadway actors, Peter Falk's performance was so critically acclaimed, it earned him his first Academy Award nomination.

Peter Falk played Mel Edison from the start of previews until early June, 1972. His replacements include Art Carney, Gabriel Dell and Hector Elizondo (credit: Internet Broadway Database).

Falk was a nervous wreck about having to sing on the soundtrack, insisting that he would sound terrible, but Frank Sinatra encouraged him by saying the worse it sounds, the funnier it'll be! And many would agree that Falk single-handedly steals the movie away from The Rat Pack.
