Watching the pink hedgehog by the calm, tranquil lake from his hiding place within the forest’s shrubbery, Shadow gazed upon her elegant form and beautiful blue dress, befitting one of her station, if he could chance a guess. Of course, she was exquisite, perfect for bearing sons. He would have nothing less than perfect, But, one couldn’t approach a lady like this so openly, naturally. Still, having not even the slightest clue how to start their dance properly, he kept perfectly still in the bushes, waiting for his chance to introduce himself, burning coals staring out from among the greenery.

Lady Nimue would be unaware of the shadowed hedgehog staring her down from the nearby forest. Too entranced with the calm waters of the lake, but she wouldn’t be unaware for long. It was then she seemed to snap out of her gaze and peer over her shoulder towards the darkness. Green eyes making contact with the burning ones that glowed, directly aimed at her.

“hh-!” She visibly flinched in surprise when she caught sight of him and quickly composed herself. She moved from her seated position, standing to face the stranger with a sweet smile on her muzzle “Well hello stranger~ Are you lost?~”

Like for a short starter~

Nimue shyly peeked from her hands, standing straighter as she nodded. “R-right!” She smiled as she took his hands, actually able to hold onto them now as she led him off towards the woods. “It’s just a little bit of a walk down this road…” She released one hand, still holding onto the other as she motioned towards the forest.

  Sonic lightly holds her hand right back. It felt weird being normal again. Having to use more of his hand to hold onto hers. He tried not to think about it too much. A sheepish shade of blush washed over his cheeks. Sonic gazed about the area they slowly began to pass. He took the time to admire the scenery.

  “Hey, no problem… I’m getting strange sense of de ja vu all of a sudden.”

She paused at a fork in the road, staring at the sign to make sure they were going the right way.

Nimue looked back at him with a small smile “Oh? What are you remembering?~”

  He blinks and turns his gaze towards her.

 “Maybe… like I’ve been here before, maybe? I’m unsure. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been here in a while, i dunno. I’m sure I’ll remember some time in the future. Are the signs in the road reliable?”

“Well. It is a possibility no?” She smiled and sighed as she looked towards the sign once again. “If I recall right. No.” She pouted but started down a path with him in tow. “No worries! I have been to this village plenty of times! It is only a short walk away~”

    He stood back up when he had been instructed to. He made sure not to make any sudden movements while she was doing this. It wouldn’t be very funny if this had messed up. He shut his eyes when a blinding light had taken place. He didn’t open his eyes to check himself, but it was easy to tall that it worked entirely.    His body had changed into a normal hedgehog.

Nimue peeked out from behind her  hand, blinking and a smile spread across her face. “Oh! Fluffy hold still just a moment!” She pulled water from her lake, forming it into a mirror and carefully holding it as she stood before him “Ok! look!~”

The pink hedgehog was all smiles, absolutely giddy she had been able to change his appearance properly.

  Once he had opened his eyes, he jumped back a little.  “Whoa! Who’s the good lookin’ blue hedgehog in the mirror?” He leans in to get a closer look. His emerald green eyes stared in pure amazement.

Nimue giggled as she let the mirror float there and step back. “Just be careful alright? The enchantment will only work as long as you wear the amulet.” She was beaming still as she bounced.

“Oh! I’m sorry I am so excited it worked!”

 He sits up straight and smiles at her. He took notice of her beaming grin. The hedgehog was glad that it had turned out successful.   “I’ll make sure to keep it on. This is quite the amulet. You’re amazing, Nimue! It’s been a while since I’ve even seen my normal form. You did a good job.”

Nimue felt her face flush at his compliments, the pink hedgehog shyly covering her face. Both in embarassment and flattery. Her voice muffled as she squeaked “I-I am glad you like it...you can keep it if you like...”

  “Sure, why not. I’m at your disposal.” He looked at her curiously. The werehog wondered what exactly what she could be up to. The thought of wearing clothes over his long fur seemed a little uncomfortable, but he could work things out.

She smiled “oh good! I’ve been needing to practice Illusion more I-oh just..one second” She turned and quickly retreated to the lake, walking along it’s surface before suddenly disappearing below it’s calm surface.

She would return within moments wearing her traveling attire. In her hands she held a small amulet and a large book, it covered in ancient texts and filled with small tabs of papers to mark certain places.

She set the book to the side, it simply floating and opening up to the proper page as she approached with the amulet. “Mind bending down for me?”

  The werehog stood there in quiet curiosity. He watches as she disappears into the lake, then returns. His eyes gazes upon the floating book, which fascinated him quite a bit. His ears perked up when he heard her. speak. Obediently, he bends down for her.

She smiled as she reached and carefully put the trinket over his head and neck, making sure it wasn’t too tight before letting him stand straight. The book floating near her free hand as she touched the gem of the amulet. “Now, it may not work entirely, but you wont look as fearsome~” She smiled as she pulled her hand back, just a little. A glowing circle with archaic runes floating between her and the amulet as she looked to the book.

Nimue’s eyes glowed, if only a little as the amulet’s gem glowed a blinding bright blue. The young enchantress pulling her hand back to cover her eyes until the light faded.

 He was smiling from ear to ear. His tail seemed like it was wagging as fast as a helicopter propeller.   “Oh you know me, never a dull moment at home. It’s been a hot summer, but I’m glad things are cooling down. I’ve gotten in plenty of fights, but for good intentions of, course. Do you need help with cleaning? I wouldn’t mind pitching in.”

The pink lady glanced back to the lake, thinking too all the dust and cobwebs she had left behind, or the similar dirtiness in her home in the forest. She felt a nervous sweat as she smiled sheepishly. 

“Aheh…You know? How about we save that for another day…” She pat his hand gently as she felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment. She had been gone a long while, she didn’t want people to see how….how messy, her home had gotten.

   “Well okay if you say so. If it makes you feel better, my house is worse.” He gave her a confident grin and gently patted his hand over hers.   “But, I won’t push ya. As long as we’re here together, you know?”

She giggled again gently. “Oh, I appreciate it Fluffy, thank you~” She sighed “Though I have been quiet busy, I admit I would like some time to relax with a friend maybe?” She shyly peered up at the large werehog with a shy smile.

  “Relaxing is no problem. It’s always good to take the time and smell the roses every now and again.” He didn’t realize the pun in there. He scratched his head quills. “Even better with friends. I’ll go where you want to go.”

She blinked in surprise, her hand covering her mouth as she giggled. She liked being able to be more herself when he was around, but always fell back into the ‘polite lady’ manner.

“Well! If you would like, there is a big festival going on in one of the nearby towns~”

 “Well alright, let’s go! I mean if they don’t mind me walking around. I know some places go nuts when they see a giant furry creature with fangs walking about.” He scratched the back of his head.

She held her chin in thought, looking up and down at the werehog and smiling. “Well.The Underworld Knights have been more active recently, hm...” She started back towards the lake “But...maybe I could provide a disguise if you wish?” She paused at the water’s edge with a small smile.
