yes the siege of troy was a masterful scene, but. i have a problem with nolan presenting it as though the women were killed there along with the men. that’s not what your great heroes did. those women weren’t granted a quick death in the ruins of their cities - their suffering long outlasted their husbands’ and sons’. rape has been a weapon of war for longer than we can conceptualise, and women’s bodies the reward for victory. to pretend otherwise is to be either wilfully ignorant or cowardly.
