Once upon a time Positano
(A Positano Guide)
If you are looking for a dreamlike place, a scene of fairy tales perhaps you're probably looking for Positano. At first glance it may seem like a crib – hundreds of colorful houses clinging to the rock, amongst lemon scented gardens, which are reflected in a crystalline sea once inhabited by the sirens. In fact, one of these myths tells us that Positano was founded by Poseidon - the Latin Neptune, the god of the sea - for the sake of the nymph Pasitea, whom he loved.
I would recommend this destination to lovers , to delight them of magical and dreamlike scenarios. It is a place where you breathe both love and culture. I love getting lost in the narrow streets to discover the traditions, and small shops - in fact, do not be surprised if you find yourself in front of a small workshop where artisans work handmade sandals (my favorite footwear, chic and elegant with any outfit). Going to “Maria Lampo” is a must in Positano: a corner of tailoring where were born the famous “bikini fazzoletto”. She approaches you while wearing her clothes, and with a few clever touches she adjusts the dress and turn it into a tailor-made solution! Last but not least “Antonello dalle Mura” shop, with a wide selection of trendy summer outfits.
In the morning have a Cappuccino Freddo at “Bar Internationale” and then pit stop at the kitchen of La Buca di Bacco to prepare a picnic for the day made of rice patties and meatballs - book the cooking class with Chef Andrea to discover the recipes and culinary traditions of the Amalfi Coast.. Rent an Aquarama and swim in the blue sea of Li Galli Islands where mythological sirens lived and bewitched the sailors in transit, making them shipwreck on the rocks ... In Homer's Odyssey, Ulysses would not give to hear the song sirens and so, on the advice of the sorceress Circe, he had himself tied to the mast of the ship.
...On the way back, enjoy the sunset on the terrace of the Sirenuse while sipping champagne and some oysters...
In the evening, you cannot go wrong wherever you go you will enjoy your dinner but I cannot not advise you two special dinners ... the very romantic restaurant on the terrace of the Buca di Bacco where you will taste the best lobster linguine you’ve ever had, the chef Andrea never disappoints ! And the hotel's restaurant San Pietro (the most beautiful in the world) where you will be living a dream between smells, tastes, dim lights and breathtaking views.
…also called “The Gem of the divine coast” – “la perta della costiera amalfitana”- it is probably the most marvellous village of the Amalfi Coast and will not fall short your expecations for its incomparable beauty.
