If they're so desperate to join the ranks of the "hyphenated american", they should cut the shyte and just go with euro- or anglo- American; save heritage for Indigenous Peoples.

I think my stream of consciousness page is a good place to park my politico.

Looking at the pattern of recent supreme court decisions, I can create a couple of interesting narratives (all just opinion, btw).

1. This is America's version of erecting an Iron Curtain. From the border to 100 miles in; suspension of the 4th and 14th Amendment. People find it more difficult to get into the country; by the same token, people find it more difficult to leave the country (escape or go abroad to do things that would be restricted here).

They have built the wall.

2. We rewind a bit, back to the Trump era, and review the attempt to move to a more isolationist stance. Reining in a military presence and participation if foreign affairs/policing. Coercing and threatening American businesses abroad to pack up and come back stateside. Attempting to pull out of multinational summits and trade pacts.

A precursor to needing a wall to fall back behind.

3. Once we've reduced our obligations and more importantly, our reliance on foreign transaction and transactional consequence... what can they start doing (getting away with) within our borders?

This is where we start regressing to "American Dream" era America; post WWII - pre 60's America; apple pie and MAGA era America.

Red Scare America.

The overturning of Roe v Wade is just another piece of this puzzle but what other pieces will they need to complete this picture and how distorted will this new portrait be once is done?

The Patriot Act, Stop and Frisk, No Knock Warrants, Imminent Domain and now the stripping of legal recourse against federal agents who may violate constitutional rights in any city within 100 miles inside the U.S. Border.

With only a few buzz phrases to protect you, like Probable Cause and Due Process, you have to wake up and realize that you don't have rights; you have privileges.

And some are more privileged than others.

Some of you are not old enough to know about Red Scares I and Ii or Cointel Pro (and how it relates to anti-abortion tactics).

Ignorance doesn't make you immune though.
