It was exactly what Maya had expected from the Governor after she was taken to the Woodbury clinic; she had been stripped of her weapons and supplies [luckily enough to get to keep her favorite butterfly knife], just about forced to let a doctor take care of her bullet wound, and with an armed escort, taken to an apartment of her own. There was no doubt in her mind that even though the Governor had said he would let her leave once her wound was healed, he would try everything he could to convince or force her to stay and work for him. She had no plan to let him win. Woodbury had given her a weird feeling the moment she had entered it's walls and the feeling only grew when she met it's fearless leader.

The only thing she was happy about in Woodbury was that she finally had a comfortable bed to sleep in, electricity, and even warm water for showers. It was like the apocalypse had never happened. However, she wouldn't let herself completely relax in the pleasant conditions. She continuously reminded herself that beyond the walls were the undead, ready to kill every living thing inside the town.

Upon hearing the knock on the door of the apartment, the Irish female sat up from the bed and simply stared at the door, debating on answering it. With a grumble, Maya stood up and moved to the door. A couple of clicks from the lock then the door was pulled open and she was face to face with the man who had brought her to the town.

"Um...hello?" She cocked an eyebrow at him, more then curious as to why he was there. Had the Governor sent his second-in-command to fetch her? "Do you need something?" she questioned.

She almost commented back to him with some kind of joke about his Southern accent but she stopped herself. Start joking now and he would actually think there was some kind of chance to have a relationship with her. "I'm sure it will be fine," she replied to the other part. Of course she was more then sure that she would find something to do around the town when she went out. Maybe she would find a good reason to sneak out at night like she did with the rest of the foster homes.

Maya looked towards Lori as the older woman waved Rick over. The teen stayed in her one spot as the man joined his wife and the social worker got back in her car. Finally the worker's eyes were no longer on her. The car ride with the woman was enough to make Maya want to smack the worker with her backpack.

Tired of standing by herself after a while, she moved over to the couple and adjusted the strap on her shoulder. "So, do I get the grand tour now?" she asked dully.

Well, tomorrow I'm hitting the road and heading back home for my little sis's graduation. It'll be another weekend long thing much like St. Patty's Day but I'll need my awesome friends to keep me entertained [and from killing my bro-in-law] during the long ass car ride.

I'll be working on my replies along the way as well so hopefully I'll have them posted before Monday when I get back.

No other kids? She was actually glad for that. Too many foster homes she had been to and had to share space with obnoxious or uptight children younger then her. Having a room of her own was going to be nice but without other kids, the couple's attention would mostly be on her. While it meant she could work her way out of their care faster, it also meant that they would constantly be trying to build some kind of relationship with her.

1st person gets: To own my character for one day.

2nd person gets: To own my character for three days.

Mira was quiet for a moment, her eyes looking over the brown haired man standing before her. She couldn't seem to figure him out. If his kindness was actually a front, he definitely knew how to work it.

She missed his cold look to Merle as she looked down to her wound, worried about the blood she was losing. It definitely was not the first time she had been shot and it wasn't the longest she had gone without medical attention to the wound but she knew she couldn't just stand there trying to make friends in an apocalyptic world with a bullet in her shoulder.

The firmness of Merle's grip on her arm made her almost lash out at the man. She was sick and tired of being grabbed like she was some kind of criminal. [Well..she wasn't a criminal anymore.] However, she knew he was only following orders and because she didn't have handcuffs and was still armed, he was going to be cautious of the stranger in his home though, he still released her when the Governor commented on it. Play up the stranger like you trust them in order to gain their trust and make them drop their defenses?

As the two men began to walk back down the hallway, she followed as quickly as she could. "I don' need anyone's help with this. I jus' ask fer a place t' stay fer a few days while this heals then I'll be out of yer way," she told the leader.
