Well that's incredibly rude
I prefer to use my weekends to spend with just my family :)
Well I love that too of course...I guess I just don't want you to feel like you're missing out on anything!

Took Christina to the park today with Weston and his son to see if it would help her feel better...we only got to stay for 20 minutes before she wanted to go home :( Poor baby, she loves the park!
oh my god she's so adorable! Love the pigtails and the slippers!
:) She's pretty adorable, huh?? She LOVES those slippers, if she had it her way she'd wear them every second of every day.
How's Christina doing? I hope she's on the mend.
She's been sleeping and crying...that's pretty much it all day and probably all night, it's going to be a long one tonight :( I hate seeing my baby sick
what happens to baby chris?? :(
She's sick again :( She had a cold a few weeks ago, but now it looks like it's back...I'm trying not to worry too much though, I'm sure with just a little rest she'll be back to her crazy ways ;)
Long day today. Naps are a great cure for a tired mind.
Going to be a long night too... we have a sick baby on our hands :(
No Worries
Finn smiled and nodded as the meeting continued on and on. He was never really good at all the diplomatic parts of being in the business. He preferred just to talk on the radio and enjoy the fan aspect, the back and forth of the everyday man or woman talking to him. All this bureaucratic red tape stuff bored him. He looked down at his watch and realized he’d been in the room for over two hours. “Well I think we’ve got a good understanding of what everyone needs to do to make this happen then.” He looked up as his boss was talking to one of the suits at ESPN and smiled. He stood up as everyone else did and shook the hand of the man across from him. “We’re excited to have your face on our channel Finn.” Finn grinned. He was going to be on TV during the playoffs and actually part of the national team for the Superbowl. He couldn’t believe this was happening. “I’m excited to be a part of it, sir.” The man patted his back, “Oh enough of this sir stuff, call me Walter.” Finn nodded, “Walter.” He said timidly as they all walked toward the door. “We’ll meet with you next week.” Finn shook their hands again and walked out the door.
He leaned against it as it closed shut and breathed a sigh of relief as he took the elevator back down to his floor. Cindy greeted him in the hallway. “Well?” She asked excitedly. “I’m in. Can you believe it? I’m going to be on television.” She shrieked and jumped up to hug him and he laughed. “Ok calm down, I’m not buying you a car or anything.” She smirked. “No but a really nice dinner over on Sunset wouldn’t hurt.” Finn laughed. “Cheap taste I see. Well in the meantime, let’s get lunch, stress makes me hungry.” Cindy ran over to the desk and grabbed her purse and then stopped and frowned. “Oh shoot. I almost forgot. Your wife is in your office.” Finn turned toward his office. “Oh, well let me see what she needs, raincheck?” He smiled and turned toward his door, opening it to the sound of his daughter crying. “Rach? What’s going on?” He saw his wife stand up annoyed and push his daughter into his arms. She was burning up. “Holy crap, when did she get sick again?” He looked down at his daughter, her cheeks scarlet red. “Baby, you’re burning up.” She reached up for him, wrapping her arms around his neck. “Dadda….” She was crying softly as the tears trickled down her cheeks. He looked back at Rachel. “I’m so sorry, I was in that meeting, I had no idea you were here or I would have come down right away.”
He grabbed his bag and slung it over his other shoulder. “We gotta get her to the doctor.” He saw the worry in Rachel’s eyes and leaned over to press his lips to her forehead. “Don’t worry, I’m sure she’s just picked up a bug from being around other kids.” He opened his office door and saw Cindy standing next to her desk. “Cancel my other appointments and can you see if they can play the re-run of last weekend’s game rundown’s. I gotta get my daughter to a doctor right away.” Cindy smiled and picked up the phone. “Sure thing Finn, I’m on it right away, I sure hope your daughter feels better Rachel.” She said with a large smile and then punched in numbers on her phone. Finn led his family toward his car and strapped Christine into the back. “Why didn’t you call me as soon as she started with the fever again?” He asked as they pulled away from the station. “I’m sure Cindy would have gotten me out of that meeting if you told her it was an emergency. She’s always covering for me.” He looked over at Rachel who was staring out the window quietly. “It’s gonna be fine, babe. Don’t worry alright. She’s just got a fever. I swear sometimes you and that mom and tot group stuff makes you a hypocondor or something.” He pulled up to the urgent care and climbed out of the car, pulling his daughter from her car seat as the crying started again. “It’s ok, daddy’s got ya baby girl.” They checked in and waited in the small room until their name was called and they were ushered back to a small room. When the doctor came Rachel mostly explained her symptoms and they were ushering her back for tests as Finn sat back in the seat in the corner waiting to find out which antibiotic he needed to order next.
Rachel went into Finn’s office trying to ignore the tone Cindy had with her, hopefully Finn would be down in just a couple of minutes. Rachel sat Christina on Finn’s desk and instead of playing with the little toys he kept on his desk she just began to whale out loud screams that pierced Rachel’s ears. “Baby please” Rachel picked up her daughter and began to rocking her back and forth in attempt to stop her crying, “shhhhh Christina please” she began to hum a tune, “where’s Finn…” she said to herself as her daughter cried in her arms. Rachel stood up from his office chair and poked her head out, “Cindy…do you know how much longer Finn’s going to be…” Cindy looked up from her desk at Rachel with an over-exaggerated smile, “not too much longer…like I said, this meeting is important” Rachel slowly nodded and went back into his office. She tried to play with Christina giving her Finn’s pen and a paper to draw with or letting her play with the model football player he had but she just threw everything a way and cried louder.
Rachel looked at her phone…he’s been in a meeting for over an hour and a half now, what the heck was he doing? She was beginning to get annoyed, her patience thin as her daughter’s cries were beginning to give her a headache, “Dadda!!!! Dadda!!!” she cried louder and Rachel felt as though she was about to snap if Finn didn’t come to his office this instant. Rachel finally heard the door of his office open and she stood up from his office chair with Christina in her arms, she shoved her daughter in Finn’s arms to let him hold her as she messaged her temples. “Where have you been? What meeting takes up 2 hours?!” she asked annoyed as she looked over at him, she let out a breath to calm herself, “Sorry…I don’t mean to snap at you” she said in a calming voice as she looked at Christina in his arms, “she’s been like that since you left this morning…It could be that cold again, but this just seems much worse” she knew she shouldn’t jump to conclusions, it was probably the flu and nothing more but Rachel was still a worried mother. She frowned as Finn spoke, “well…I mean it was an important meeting…” she looked over at Cindy’s desk, why couldn’t she just have told Finn that she was there? Rachel pushed the thought out of her head, she needed to focus on her daughter.
Rachel felt Finn’s lips on her forehead, she knew she was overreacting and being overly worried, but she hated seeing her daughter sick, hated hearing her cries and feeling useless as she tried to make her daughter feel better, “yeah…let’s go”. They both left the office and Rachel looked over at Cindy when Finn was giving her orders, there was something about that smile she was giving her that Rachel just didn’t like…she didn’t know what it was though. She gave Cindy a short smile, “yeah…I hope so too”. All three of them went towards the car and Rachel got in the passenger seat as Finn drove to the doctors, “I didn’t want to interrupt your meeting, Cindy told me it wasn’t going to be long so I waited in your office”. Rachel looked out the window, what if it wasn’t the flu? What if it was something worse…what if Rachel did something wrong? Her mind was clouded with worry as she looked over at Finn, “It’s just…well she’s been sick a lot lately, I’m just worried…but you’re right I’m sure its nothing”. They pulled into the parking lot and Rachel grabbed her bag as Finn went to take Christina out of her seat. She checked in with the receptionist and waited for their name to be called. As soon as they were in the doctor’s office Rachel began to list, in detail everything she noticed about Christina getting sick, how long she slept for, how pink her cheeks were, how much she was eating, everything. The doctor nodded, “alright Mr. and Mrs. Hudson, I’m just going to take little Christina here to do a few tests and we’ll figure out exactly what’s going on” he smiled and Rachel nodded, “it’ll be okay baby I’ll see in really soon okay, the nice man here is going to help you feel better okay?” she kissed her daughter’s forehead as she sat back where Finn was and took a deep breath, “it’s going to be okay” she whispered, trying to reassure herself.
No Worries
Finn rolled over as the light hit his eyes and groaned. He hated getting up early but he needed to be at work for a huge meeting with the boss of ESPN Network. With football season in full swing he was in talks to join one of the television news groups during the playoffs. It was a huge opportunity to go from radio to television. And getting to sit on a row with Jon Gruden and some of the other great coaches was a dream come true for him. He just needed to nail this interview today. He knew he wasn’t the only one in contention for the spot so he had to be on his A game. He didn’t want to tell Rachel about it yet until he knew for sure it was going to happen, she always got so excited about his job and if she knew there was a chance he could be on television even for just a few weeks she’d freak out and go over every tiny detail with him. He was already nervous. He sat up in the bed and dragged himself to the shower. He walked into the bedroom just as Rachel was walking in with Christina on her hip. “Hey there beautiful.” He kissed Rachel and then tapped his lips to Chrissy’s cheek. “You too Rach.” He teased.
He walked over to the closet and pulled out a suit and tie and slowly got himself dressed for his interview. He looked at himself in the mirror and tried to do the best he could with his hair, running his hands through it. He always felt odd in a suit, somehow out of place. He jogged down the stairs and walked into the kitchen, sitting down at the table and nodding at Rachel. “Uh, yeah…big meeting today. Tell you about it tonight.” He said with a grin. He started to push the food from the plate into his mouth as quickly as he could as he looked down at his watch and his phone chimed with a text from Cindy. “You’d better be in your car on the way right now, Hud” Finn frowned and grabbed his plate, dropping it into the sink and giving Rachel a quick peck goodbye. “I gotta run, gonna be late.” He ran over and tapped Chrissy on the top of the head and took off for the door as he grabbed his car keys. “I’ll talk to you tonight. LOVE YOU.” He shouted as he closed the door behind him and jumped into his car, pulling out of the drive in a hurry. He hated being late, but he always found himself rushing anyway, even when he planned ahead to be on time. At least Cindy kept him focused. He shook his head and pushed the button on his phone to call her. “Ok I’m on the road, but you aren’t going to like which road I’m on.” He said with a laugh.
“Finn! You were supposed to have left thirty minutes ago. You’re going to be late.” He heard silence and then a sigh and some papers shuffling. “I’ll stall them, but you owe me….and I’m not talking about some shitty damn lunch in the cafeteria.” Finn laughed. “Fine, if I get this gig, I’ll buy you something expensive alright. Just tell them I’m in traffic or pooping or something.” She groaned. “This is why I do the talking and you just stand there looking cute and smiling.” Finn rolled his eyes. “Catch ya in about twenty alright?” He hung up the phone and looked at the clock. Always late. Thirty five minutes later he pulled into the parking lot and Cindy met him at the door. “Ok I told them that there was an accident up by where you live, I checked there actually was so I didn’t lie. They are waiting for you in 220. Just smile and be you!” Finn nodded and then tossed his briefcase into her arms and ran toward the elevator. “Hold my calls.” He shouted back and she rolled her eyes and turned toward their office. He walked into the room as everyone turned to look at him. “So sorry about that, I hope I didn’t hold you all up.” His manager smiled, “Of course not Finn. We were just discussing your show; you can’t control the traffic you know.” Finn smiled and took the seat next to the door.
Rachel cleaned up Finn’s dishes as he left in a hurry out the door. She wondered what this big meeting was about, but he had promised to tell her later that night. She looked back at Christina who still was resting her head on her arm in her high chair. “You don’t look to well” Rachel started to say with a hint of concern in her voice. Christina had been getting sicker lately and it worried Rachel a bit, she had a cold that lasted for about two weeks last month and she was finally starting to come down from it, but now it looked like maybe it was back. She pulled Christina out of her high chair and she immediately clung to her mom, resting her head on her shoulder, “Hmmm I don’t think the water park will be such a good idea today” she grabbed her cell phone and dialed Weston’s phone number. He was like Rachel’s second hand when it came to the mom and tots group. He was always willing to give Rachel an extra hand on everything and she really appreciated his eagerness to help, plus his son and Christina got along so well. “Hi Weston, sorry to call so early but I don’t think Christina and I will be attending the trip today.”
Weston cleared his throat over the line, “Oh that’s too bad Rachel, is everything alright?” Rachel looked over at Christina who still had her head buried into Rachel’s neck, “Yeah Christina’s not feeling very well again…I think I’m gonna bring her to the doctor’s office with Finn” Weston was silent for a while, “Yeah that’s good, doesn’t he work though? Maybe you should go another day and just come to the waterpark with us and Christina will feel better?” Christina began to cry that she wanted her daddy at that exact moment and Rachel knew there was no way she would want to go to a park today, “No, I don’t think that’s a good idea, she wants her dad right now and I think we need to go for a checkup”. Rachel could almost hear the disappointed tone in Weston’s voice as he spoke, “Alright see you next week then Rachel” he hung up immediately before Rachel could even say bye and she wondered what had gotten into him. Rachel placed her phone on the counter and Christina began to cry, “Daddy…Daddy” she cried out in between sobs, “Okay, okay we’ll go see daddy” Rachel brought Christina up the stairs and began to change her into her regular clothes, she slipped her in some purple tights and a pink dress and quickly attached her hair in pigtails.
Christina wouldn’t stop crying no matter what Rachel did, she tried to sing to her, which usually worked, she tried giving her, her stuffed monkey that she loved so much, or the football Finn gave her for her birthday, but nothing worked. Rachel got her things together and grabbed her purse and pick Christina up on her hip as they left the house. “Christina Shhhhh, baby it’s okay we’re going to see daddy right now” she tried to calm down the girl but she would just cry louder. She opened the backseat door and placed Christina in her car seat and strapped her in before getting in the front seat and heading towards Finn’s work. Christina managed to quiet down as they got in the parking lot and they both went inside, Christina’s head buried in Rachel’s shoulder as they were both met by Finn’s assistant Cindy. “Rachel. What are you doing here?” she asked almost coldly and Rachel gave her a confused look, “Um Christina is sick and I wanted to take her to the doctor’s and she wants Finn…so I figured we’d all go together.” Cindy shook her head, “well he’s in a really important meeting, surely you knew that” Rachel didn’t understand why Cindy was getting so defensive with her right now, “I know…but I just thought that when he done…” “It might be a while, can’t you go without him?” Cindy interrupted. Rachel shook her head and walked passed the woman, “We’ll wait in his office…thanks for you help”. She said sarcastically, wondering what Cindy’s problem was.
No Worries
Rachel woke up at her usual time, 6:00am. She didn’t even have to put an alarm on anymore; it was just her natural time of waking up. She liked the peacefulness of her mornings though; she had a good solid hour before Finn would get up for work and before Christina would get up as well. She made her way down the stairs towards the kitchen in her robe and slippers and fixed herself breakfast. She began to read the paper as she looked through the newspaper and began to sip her coffee; it was these little moments of bliss that she really enjoyed. Not that she didn’t enjoy spending time with her family, but taking care of a one year old proved to be a lot of work, and she just really liked having her “Rachel” time…even if it was just an hour in the morning. After reading the paper and sipping her coffee Rachel looked up at the time and began to make breakfast for Finn and Christina who would be waking up at any moment now. She put two pieces of bread in the toaster for Finn and cut up some fruit and put dry cereal in a bowl for Christina.
Right on cue Rachel could hear the shower running and knew Finn was up, she could also hear Christina’s ear-defining yells signaling she wanted to be removed from her crib, Finn always said Christina had her mother’s voice. She went up the stairs and crept open Christina’s door, the girls face went from being upset to an ear to ear smile when she saw her mom, “mama!!!” the girl yelled and Rachel beamed, “Good morning!” she sang out as she went to pick up her daughter, “How’s mommy’s little girl?” she rested Christina on her hip and walked out of the room, just as Finn was getting out of the shower. He walked out with a towel around his waist, little droplets of water still on his skin, “morning babe” he leaned down and gave her a peck on the lips before kissing his daughter on the cheek, “breakfast is on the table” she called back to him as she made her way downstairs with Christina. She placed the girl in her highchair and went over to get her breakfast, “is someone hungry?” Rachel said as Christina began to bang her hands down, “hungy!! Hungy!” it was moments like that Christina reminded her so much of Finn. If anyone were to meet Christina they would say she was a mirror image of Rachel, same eyes and hairstyle, but her personality made Rachel stop sometimes in awe at how much she was like Finn. She also had the Finn half-smile smirk down to a tee already.
Finn’s toast popped out of the toaster and Rachel went to spread peanut butter on it and pour him a cup of coffee just as he came down the stairs wearing his work suit, “important meeting today, babe?” Rachel asked as she placed his breakfast in front of him at the table, he usually only wore his suit when he had meetings, “Christina and I have big plans today, we’re going to the water park with the Mom and Tots group today.” Rachel raised her voice in hopes of getting Christina excited, but she was too interested in her food to even know what was going on. Finn quickly scarfed down his food and Rachel watched him and began to laugh, “slow down! You’re gonna make yourself sick” he gave her a quick kiss before going over to Christina and doing the same, “We’ll see you tonight, have a good day at work baby” Finn went out the door and Rachel looked over at Christina who was resting her head on hand as her elbow leaned against the tray of her highchair…this was unusual, usually she was so energetic after eating. “Hey baby girl…” Rachel picked up Christina up and took a look at her appearance, her cheeks didn’t have the natural blush they usually did, and her eyes were slightly closed. “Are you feeling okay?” She whispered before kissing her daughter’s cheek, “you’re a little warm”.
