yknow it says that teagan’s greed made her twist and steal tapes but like. at no point does her character suggest any kind of greed. maybe it’s meant to be a hidden character trait? something she buries deep down and only rises up once she loses control

but like.

her ability.

she heals herself using tapes

so what makes more sense? that she steals your tapes because she’s greedy? or because she’s in a state where she’s essentially undead- a state where toons are known to see the world differently (bobette not realizing she’s twisted and thinking toons running away from her is just a fun game like tag or hide and seek)- and she’s trying to get tapes to heal herself. there’s a good chance she doesn’t realize she’s being so violent when she takes them. if bobette, hunting toons down, thinks she’s playing tag, who’s to say teagan doesn’t think she’s just politely borrowing them?

idk. sometimes we think the dandy’s world community knows these characters better than qwel does. cause this conclusion came from 1. us going ‘hey twisted teagan takes tapes and non twisted teagan uses tapes to heal’ and then a whole bunch of art and animations and analysis from various dandy’s world creators.

(maybe the new person taking charge will change that. maybe. qwel’s still gonna be involved, after all. who knows how much authority over the game and characters the new lead dev will have)

ae'll be so honest

we've never liked cocoa much. even though we LOVE rabbits and rabbit characters

now that we're making our own design for her, we're kinda realizing. it might be because she's based on a chocolate bunny than a real bunny, and even more so based on a domestic rabbit more than a wild rabbit

and don't get us wrong: domestic rabbits are ADORABLE. but we live in an area with tons of wild rabbits, we see them all the time, and ae think maybe we were subconsciously put off by how different she is from the rabbits we're used to

for our design we're kind of. putting the chocolate bunny aspect on the back burner. we're making her more like our rabbits, giving her some plushie aspects (gotta pay homage to our beloved plush rabbits), and incorporating some antelabbit, wolpertinger, and skvalder traits

we're starting to like her more since her design traits are more familiar to us now. we always thought maybe we were just too into the bassie love, but it's actually just that...idk, she's almost like the uncanny valley version of rabbits? like she looks like a bunny but something is distinctly un-bunny like about her to us. and it puts us off

anyway just thought we'd share that little realization

oh btw we figured out a neat solution to our dw skins problem, with how to implement them into blossoming falls and stuff

turns out you CAN have your cake and eat it sometimes!! we love our cake man it's awesome

so our first technical implementation of a costume is gonna be LILA, a brusha look-alike that is NOT brusha. her lore will be explained in her character page :3

ywanna know what’s so scary about the reaper leviathan call?

it’s not that it’s a big scary roar

it’s the fact that it’s a big scary roar in the middle of a murky ass patch of the ocean where you can’t see anything until it’s right in front of your face

you’ve likely seen stalkers at this point. maybe even sandsharks. hell, it’s possible you got too curious and ventured out into the dead zone before heading to the aurora. but you head to the aurora at some point because it just exploded and you need to fix it before it leaks enough radiation to kill everything. and nothing you’ve encountered up until this point has sounded anything like that far off roar you just heard

it’s a perfect introduction to the reaper leviathan. it’s rivaled only by the pda’s “multiple leviathan class lifeforms detected. are you sure whatever you’re doing is worth it?”

like in isolation the roar is generic monster noise. if you listen to it out of context, you might not find it scary at all. it’s the way it’s implemented into the gameplay and world that makes it so frightening

it probably also has something to do with the fact that a good chunk of subnautica players get palpitations when they hear it because their first experience with the reaper was that roar and then the open jaws of death coming straight for their face

like don’t get us wrong it’s not the most terrifying sound in the game. but as an introduction to the first really REAL threat you’ll face- the first one that will kill you in one massive bite- it is MWAH. IMMACULATE.

we're having so much fun drawing the refs for our dandys world rewrite

it's called blossoming falls btw. so we can stop calling it a dandys world rewrite. it's not even a rewrite really its just doing something completely different with the characters

they live in a town called blossoming falls! so that's what the project is actually called

anyway point is we're having so much fun with these guys. not having to get the details absolutely perfect to the original ideas. getting to make our headcanons canon. getting to make our own characterizations of them.

our problem rn is honestly that we still wanna incorporate skins in some way. we've figured out that halloween and christmas skins are easy. maybe even spring skins. but like. how do we incorporate tisha AND lavender maid tisha into the same world??

we really love alternate forms of characters, but idk if we wanna have like. clones of the characters running around in this world. we'll figure it out!
