late post but we we came back to college to hit the books and rip a rockin set of live action music at Purchase Television!!!!!!!! it was really fun and no shade but the sound guy like obliterated the audio so me and justin had to like re-mix the whole thing ourselves with the camera audios so sorry that the audio is less than ideal we tried our best <3 john ordered a burrito at the very beginning of the set and it was delivered at the very end of the set and thats kind of beautiful if you think about it

another ballpark show at lithology! one of the lost shows theyre doing at that bar, its a cute little place (the beer is like a million dollars tho(but also its like really nice local craft beer so its pretty good)) but yeah our last show of 2025 we played a whole bunch of songs from the new album! we practiced a few times in the coming days and we were sounding really good and honestly we sounded great live but it lowkey was a shitshow! my guitar somehow kept going absurdly out of tune like a half step during the songs it was crazy, i was so nervous i couldnt sing normal i was screaming and straining my voice, and during one of the last songs me and katie both like forgot an entire section in totally different ways it was so funny but we played it off well and laughed it off and just did the songs and otherwise it sounded great and felt great. we lowkey sold a bunch of merch so people must have liked it. such a success i feel like people resonated with the songs even though the performance was less than ideal but honestly thats like all i can ask for i feel lucky that we have songs that people enjoy despite the fuckups. left that show feeling great and had a really fun time and yayyyy 2026 is gonna be crazy merry christmas everyone love ya bye

my song of the year this year is "cancer of the skull" by cameron winter

this song embodies exactly how ive come to explore art and music in the last year. it all happened really fast a lot of things clicked for me about art and why i do it and what my passion actually means. ive never listened to as much music as i do right now and it just feels like a pirates crazy eyed quest for meaning and power and revelry. this song also has really cool instrumentation and just is like the perfect cameron winter song sonically imo i cant get enough of it.

but all that being said, i do think theres a different song on this album that does represent my 2025 better than this; "love takes miles". in september i packed my car and drove up to my old college to stay with my boyfriend for a while. i went on 2 tours with one of my bands and took my car all the way down south and got taken in someone elses car to columbus ohio where we played a show to one of my longest-time internet friends who id never met in person. the love i have for my bandmates and best friends never felt as potent as when we were out on the road taking care of each other and doing *the thing* together. between those, i shared a college twin bed with my butch and made my album while he went to class and he made me dinners and i made him breakfasts and our love got so strong. i would spend some times stayin with my friends up further north in kingston to visit them and their little lives they've built so far away from me. i visited my friend adam (hi adam) up in fredonia the other day to see his gallery opening and celebrate some really big accomplishments in his life and i was so proud of him. ive put well over 100,000 miles on my car this year for love, and only for love. i dove head first into every friendship i have, old and new, and came out drenched in love. i havent been home for more than 2 days at a time since september and i am so tired but i have more driving to do to see more people i love and do more things that i love and love will fit my entire life into my car and it will takes miles and years and it just grows.

i know this album came out in 2024 but it was like december that doesnt even really count

i never thought being a musician would mean this much file organization and use of a highlighter but basically this is my doc file for editing lyrics ive never edited lyrics really most of the time the song is just the song however i made it but im being a little more ambitious about this record. water filter and blackouts so to hide classified information. did you even know you can have multiple tabs on a google doc? theyre like different pages its insane i went to college i didnt even know that until a few weeks ago. well anyways there 15 songs (17 with bonus tracks hehehehehe) its over an hours worth of music and theres a lot of lyrics so ive given myself about 2 months to finish the lyrics with a hard deadline. whatevers done by the deadline is done and im moving onto final recordings. making this work like homework weirdly made it so much easier for me i guess it makes sense i need structure i loved college this is like if i was in charge of a class on making a concept album. its going really good though the process seems to be working i feel more confident in this body of work than ive ever felt about any of art before. its good to take things one at a time, the last album i just wrote and produced and recorded and mixed and mastered all at the same time and the products were very rough around the edges which is cool and works for that album but im not trying to write from inside the wound anymore, im trying to portray it from a distance. this is more fictionalized than im used to but it makes it feel better and easier to digest i think. well anyways if you read this far thanks and like and subscribe for more epic content if this post gets 100 likes ill drop the demo album exactly as it is right now can we get 4 new followers i will give one random follower a golden lambo but to enter you have to send me your full ssn, name, and address okay this bit sucks bye
