Starting with Alphonse.
Alphonse is a dual fairy/dark type user! He and Seth both were going for championship as a team in Galar since they grew up together on the country side, it was always their dream to escape their small town and join the big leagues. Alphonse lost a battle shortly after learning of his parent’s passing and had to drop from the championship games while Seth was still in it, they got into a huge argument because Alphonse wanted to go home but Seth wanted him to stay just until Seth won championship.
They had a falling out and Alphonse returned to the countryside.
Seth started out going for championship with only fighting types. He was a much better fighter than Alphonse was and soared through the ranks pretty quickly. When Alphonse lost his battle and his parents, Seth was in the semi-finals. He couldn’t convince Alphonse to stay and was too heartbroken to put his enthusiasm into his championship match and lost pretty brutally.
He picks up the ground types after his loss, roaming the regions for a couple years before finally showing back up to their little country town. You all know what happens next.
Auron’s a dual dark/ghost type user. Something something he’s haunted by his past, you get the gist. His Froslass is his ace, she reminds him of something peaceful amongst the darkness around him. He picks up his Ceruledge, Aegislash and Bisharp after his father passes as a symbol of protection, but not for him, from him. Auron believes he needs fighters to protect those he cares about.
His mother got him his Eevee and told him that he could be whoever he wanted him to be. You can imagine the dread he felt when he turned into a dark type.

And our other doomed sibling, Faust!
Faust isn’t a type user. His father bought him his Luxray and Absol when he was young in hopes he would become a phenomenal trainer one day. Faust never wanted to battle with his pokémon, he liked dressing them up and playing with them. Once Faust became a star, he bought the rest of his pokémon based on looks. He chose them only thinking of how they looked beside him.
Auron’s mother gave him an Eevee just as she did Auron and as Faust grew colder, so did his pokémon.
