As someone whose Rook’s backstory revolves around a car crash, thank you for this idea..

As someone whose Rook’s backstory revolves around a car crash, thank you for this idea..
Reflecting on how The Odyssey has struck such a chord in me and I keep coming back to Odysseus' description of the siren song.
This past year has removed me from much of what I love. I've felt distant from many of my joys and comforts. It has been a gauntlet of challenges and trials in my attempts to get back to whatever I had that felt so safe before.
Would it be the same if I made it home? Am I worthy of it? Have I broken too many promises, crossed to many lines, lost who I thought I knew myself to be?
I've gone in circles wondering about change, transformation, and death. The death of dreams, the passage of time. I've struggled to let myself go and see what's on the other side of it. I keep lingering, a self made ghost haunting my own mirrors.
Art is magical. As these final pages turn on this sad chapter, I'm thankful to have this adaptation of the epic to help me reach some personal clarity.

How I feel making Quinn a new reference like two months after I made his last one.
~ This took six whole hours to do a half body and a full body JUST for Mr. Muffins to steal the spotlight.
I’ve been wanting to rework his design to fit more of his style recently so I’m glad I finally got wound to doing it. The white button up and khakis is iconic of course but this man is a diva and needs to dress as such. I love him so dearly, my green apple boy. Anywho! I thought it was a cute detail for him to add hair chalk highlights in his hair based on his outfit outside of work… and totally not so he looks more like his mom COUGH..

diff anon; Ive thought many a time about auron being able to speak other languages but im shocked I never considered him studying Latin as someone who was made to also [homeschooled] but thats so in character actually
Also hard agree with him having a base familiarity with a bunch of languages but not fluency [personal number one headcanon I have for auron is him being German american] it feels very in line for him to be able to understand a lot of things but then trying to speak it is splattastic failure
I’m a firm believer that he knows majority of the romance languages with the exception of Spanish LMFAO
I studied Latin for two years back when I was in highschool and I remember it very fondly especially learning about the Mythology which is something I’m sure Auron fancies. He can definitely read the romance languages but as you said, falls short when it comes to speaking it aloud.
If Rook were to speak their native language or any language Auron would definitely find it attractive. Also i wanna know your thoughts on if Auron were to speak another language what would it be???
Oh a hundred percent.
Not to make this about my guy but my Rookie knows five languages: Spanish, Italian, English, French and ASL (granted that isn’t a language you can speak!). I love love love hearing about Rooks speaking multiple languages I think it adds to their character significantly. For my guy, he was raised trilingual, learning English, Spanish (The Mexican Dialect) and of course Italian.
There’s nothing I love more than imagining Auron swooning at being spoken to in another language. He likes learning new things and picking up new skills so I imagine when he hears Rookie speak in their native tongue he would immediately be intrigued. I know it’s cliche but I also adore the idea of him learning some of the language, at least enough to say, ‘I love you’ as well as Rookie’s name if it’s differentiated by language.
And to answer your question, I think Auron isn’t able to speak other languages fluently per se. I imagine he took so many Latin classes as a kid that he can read and write it perfectly but of course it’s a dead language so he can’t necessarily speak it. He definitely also took French classes and is proficient in reading it as well as knowing enough to get him by. I doubt he would know much Spanish besides the basics unfortunately but he tries his best. Like I said, he’s more than willing to learn, especially for the one who holds dearest.

As a fellow GOT fan, I’m curious on your thoughts of the new season of HOTD so far!! I remember a while back seeing you repost an edit of Daemon and comparing I thiiink it was E! Auron to him? My memory fails me but I just saw your post about young E! Auron as Daeron and just imaging Daeron growing into Daemon and what must of happened to get him to that point. COUGH COUGH young E! Auron growing into the Bloodhound he is now hehe,, anywho I love Daeron he’s such a sweetie pie, the poor thing
I have thoroughly enjoyed this season! Maybe I'm just starved for half decent fantasy content, but even the most recent episode was great imo. The internet acts like Aegon bits are all piss break material, but like........I enjoy him and Larys very much? The moment Aegon got flame broiled his character went to another level for me, and I think me buying all this stock while people are low on him will pay off.
My only complaint was how many times they went to the well on the OH NO THERE'S TROUBLE BECAUSE OF ACCIDENTAL MISINFO AND SHENANIGANS conflict shit because it's a greattttt trick the first time, but has severely diminishing returns. But we appear to be beyond all of that now that the pieces are in place.
I think s3 tops s2, but I'm nervous it's too good to be true.
