In this unit, I have learned that doing a citing sources of information is you need to make sure not to forget the author name(s) article title. title, volume, and issue number of the journal it appears in. The reasons to cite is to avoid plagiarism, you have a proof that you do your research, Citation lead to other great sources.For me Citations are a short way to uniquely identify a published work. Why Citation is important? It shows that you have done proper research by listing sources you used to get your information. If you want to be a responsible scholar by giving credit to other researchers and acknowledging their ideas. To avoid plagiarism by quoting words and ideas used by others. We must cite all our information used in your paper, whenever and wherever you use it and Lastly,it gives supporting evidence for your ideas, arguments and opinions.

Unit 3: Writing a Summary

A writing summary is a concise representation of an academic text. On writing a summary it should include the title of article and author's name,Detail the main point, include one or two details that the author provides. Keep your summaries between one to two paragraphs. After writing a summary you should compare it to your original copy. Your goals in summary is You should understand what summary is, the reasons of summarizing and how to write a summary. If you are going to make a summary include important points, leave out irrelevant information or something that is unnecessary details, arrange the notes in correct order.

Unit 2: Thesis Statement and Outlining

Thesis Statement it states the main idea of a writing assignment and helps control the ideas or main idea of an essay. A Thesis Statement it express the one main idea like it tells what composition will all about, gives specific purpose, it should be focus on both your audience attention will be notice. A Thesis Statement that contains subpoints also helps reader to know how the idea or the essay should be organized. A Thesis Statement serves as organizing of the text and usually appears the introductory paragraph often at the end. You can put the Thesis Statement at the end or beginning of the introductory paragraph. Outline, An Outline is a way of organizing information, it is a summary which uses letters, numbers and identing to show main and supporting ideas. It also shows relationships between parts of materials. An outline is a structure and the basis for ideas or information.
