I have had a pretty decent year. A few annoying things here and there, but nothing I couldn’t handle. Then in it’s last few hours, someone places a nice piece of shit on my years end.
It’s gotten worse. Just texted someone from work asking if they are still throwing a party. Somebody stop me.

You ever go to a party with people you thought were really cool because you were too socially awkward to talk to them....and then find out that they are pretty lame anyway.

They’re targets because they are a happy, faithful, heterosexual couple in a functioning marriage with functioning children. Pretty much the definition of everything liberals hate.

They have a really awesome show on HGTV where they take a “fixer upper” home and turn it into the clients dream home within their budget. They do amazing work, they’re a happy couple, and apparently buzzfeed went after them for never having gay couples on their show. The best part? Their church is the opposite of anti-gay. They encourage anyone to come and find the word of God and how they got into his plan. It’s a sad pathetic attempt to start smearing Christians as all homophobes and bigots, and it’s backfired.

That’s cool and all, but God doesn’t exist and they should be openly shamed for being grown adults and promoting delusional fairy-tales that holds back social and scientific progress. But it’s nice to know Christians can just cherry pick the bible to their particular set of tolerant belief system.

I think the best part of these results is seeing people talk about Hillary losing because half of America hates women. Also, the dude claiming that homo sapiens are going to go extinct before they can drag the rest of nature down with them.

So something funny was going on with the grad program I had applied to this year. While I would have liked to have done it, I did not feel safe giving them as much money as I would have and had to defer my entrance to their program so I could decide at a later date whether or not I would accept. This school has a way of setting you up assuming that you will get something amazing out of it and then revealing it’s true colours only when you look closer. In my case it is the department saying that they expect employers with the grad program to give students payed placements, when in fact over the last few years up to 1/3 of the people in the program received 4 month long unpaid internships.
They tried telling me that when they said “expect” it was more of a loose guideline. I wouldn’t have known the statistics unless I had accidentally stolen something (a “survival guide’) during orientation.

Dear Millennials,
Do you hate the way Baby Boomers talk about you? Well, I want you to remember something:
The Baby Boomers were also the generation of the Hippies. And the so-called Greatest Generation said the exact same things about the Baby Boomers as the Baby Boomers say about Millennials.
The exact same things. The only thing missing was the word “selfie”.
Hippies/Baby Boomers were called lazy and entitled. They were called selfish and self-important. They were treated as if they didn’t know how to work or show proper respect for their elders and everybody thought that they wanted some sort of special treatment. The Baby Boomers were perceived as this group who thought everything was all about them. If you asked the Baby Boomer Hippies, at the time, they’d say they were just exploring sexuality and fighting racism and trying to do away with the old ways because the old ways weren’t working. They fought and they protested and they were passionate.
Then, to borrow a phrase from The Dark Knight, “you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain.” That’s what happened to the Baby Boomers. But, there’s a third option.
Remember.
Remember what this feels like. Remember what it’s like to be in your teens and twenties. Remember that it’s not easy. Remember everything the past generation says about you.
Because there will come a day when the Millennials are in their 30s and 40s and 50s. Where the President and Congress will all be Millennials. Where you will be the establishment. You will be in charge.
And there will be people of your generation, your age group, who will look at the Post-Millennials and say “Look at how selfish and disrespectful they are! What is wrong with their music? What is wrong with their hair? They can’t be separated from their technology for one second, can they?! People in my generation knew how to work hard! They weren’t lazy and entitled like these kids are!”
It will happen. Don’t let it.
Fight it. Fight for yourselves now but, when you’re older, fight for the next generation.
Break the cycle.
If you hate the way you’re treated by the older generation and the media, then remember that and don’t do it to the ones who come after you.
Or don’t be a hippie-asshole.
If a kid fell into a panda enclosure at a zoo, there is no way in hell they would have shot the panda.

Not sure if tired or everyone hates me.
Today the guy who screwed me out of a shift made the mistake of telling some people in charge about his lie. He was swiftly reprimanded and I was given back my shift. Now to sleep the sleep of petty losers.
Sometimes I think union work is pretty great. I’m part of something bigger, and hard to fire for whatever reason. Then someone pulls some seniority bullshit (that isn’t even true. straight up lied), and everyone believes him like its nothing. I need another job, and for this loser to leave me alone.
