i think im going to do what i intended for the entire time and not totally develop roswell since there isnt any canon information on maps or the world or the hierarchy other than the little we know, the structures of the government, the point of the revolution which i imagine is much deeper than 'theyre bad and were against that'

he has basic character traits, and i imagine i can redevelop the reasons for this being such but for now he is generally blank

alternatively i suggested many months ago that we develop a temporary in-place map of things and NPCs/places/local issues to go to roleplay with/about until we get permanent, canon information but nobody wanted to develop that so again

going to wait until i get proper feedback and story to develop roswell and his full case. probably going to delete prior posts or something. ill figure it out.

Noir worked at the bar again. The last time, talking with the woman who was out of sorts, that was fun. He was in a tight, sleeveless shirt, complete with bowtie and cute-ass jeans. He was whipping up a storm of booze for the customers and caught sight of a mop of blond curls and a very uncomfortable frame. "The informant's here," he mused, "What would he want?" He casually looked at his belt, just to check if his knife and gun was there, in case of a fight.

The blond, fidgety young man was certainly not there by inclination, that’s for sure. Roswell was very unaccustomed to this sort of scenery and definitely did not enjoy the company of such characters in his life. Preferably, if he could limit the number of people he needed to socially interact with to zero, he would.

Roswell gripped his left arm tightly, balling the fabric in his fist as he uncomfortably looked around the very questionable establishment he managed to get tied up in. Lord, what the hell was he doing? All he wanted was to find this young girl mentioned by the man who held him at gunpoint, rumored to have been held captive and in trouble at Lloyd’s and make sure she was okay- except now that he thought about it this way, this was a really stupid, and really dangerous idea.

As he glanced around the bar, inching his way precariously closer to the edges of the room in attempts to avoid both physical contact and eye contact with any patrons moving about, Roswell happened to glance upon the bartender as a means of making a safe connection with the person most likely to have information for him- only to meet eyes with a man who made a date with him in middle of the night with a syringe and a sedative.

Noir looked at them both with curiosity; it was good that Mabel was interacting with people outside the club who aren’t total creeps, but it would’ve been better if she’d talked to someone who wasn’t a possible threat. Well, everyone was in this line of work.

"Mister… Well, Roswell. She is under my care, although we are about a year apart. She’s gotten her memory a bit damaged and had some modifications added to her," he said nonchalantly, and turned to Mabel, "Mabel, didn’t I give you a huge Devil’s Food cake? I slaved over that for  two- never mind. I’ll just give you some brownies, I think you like those."

Roswell gave a little twitch of a smile at the mention of cake; it was a little obvious the man had a love for pastries of the like with that expression alone. She was said to have heavy modifications and damage to likely both her natural memory status as well as her digital memory status, but she was definitely an ordinary girl all the same with a love for sweets. He wondered off hand what kind of modifications this girl had and if that were the source of her considerable number of abductions. He'd maybe find out something, but she hardly seems a threat or even what everyone is expecting her to be.

"Mabel, then." He mentally filed away the full name since names were always a useful source of information when searched, but he'd have to do some digging just to find out who she was and why she was important. "You don't look like someone that gets into trouble at all, how strange. Haha." Roswell took a seat at one of the nearby stools, and managed to blend with his unnatural surroundings with more ease now that his interests had been found without any complications. For once.

"If you don't mind, can we talk? I feel like I should mention why I'm here and all. I hope it's not too weird or anything. Mostly it was out of concern."

Mabel popped her head out of the curtain enclosing the booth she was staying in, curious as to whatever Noir was doing. She was incredibly bored. “Hi Vermilion.” She waved to one of the familiar faces as he walked past her. Boy what a weird guy. Then again, everyone was kinda weird here, but she didn’t care as long as she was getting the shelter and care she was from Noir. Besides, they were all typically very nice to her. “Whatcha doin’ Noir?” she said interrupting their conversation, “Who’s the guy? Psst, also I’m kinda hungry.” Mabel added like the spoiled kid she was. She looked up at the fairly tall man. “Hi Mr.” She seemed caught off guard by his height, unintentionally staring.

Roswell noted the young girl making an appearance in the otherwise very adult-oriented business. This must be the girl that was mentioned re: his close encounters with the business end of a pistol, and whom the young assassin harbored. This seriously had to be a joke, why is this girl so important to people, she literally looks quite ordinary.

He hastily scratched at his arm and looked over the girl with a bit of concern, and a bit of confusion- the first thing out of his mouth being an observation. "You're just a kid." Roswell realized immediately that his choice of words was probably very poor for introductions and mumbled out his proper explanation. "I-I'm sorry, my name is Roswell. You are?" Absolutely not a threat, however, definitely a massive dork.

Roswell absolutely would never repeat what he'd' heard from the 'Vermilion' man. How lewd and forward. He held his hands up right once again and leered at the needle-like contraption relayed to him. "I would rather not jam a needle in someone right now. I might faint; put it away. I don't like needles- I trust you're telling the truth." 

Roswell was beginning to look quite squeamish at the suggestion that he'd even go near needles after his last encounters; but he appeared a little crestfallen at the mention that the girl was off-limits. In his mind, the fact this young girl was tied up in the likes of the man that held him at gunpoint, the insanity of the recent events with Lloyd, this young man Noir and seemingly a brothel of some sort, Roswell was not nearly convinced that this girl was safe at all, especially with the fact that she was being taught a sort of self defense from this sneaky lunatic. He was not fine with any of this situation, and was much more inclined to speak with her directly, by any means. Who the hell was this girl to be in on all of this?

"If I could have a word with her and at least get the gist of what the hell this is all about, that'd be great to hear. This I know has nothing to do with me but considering I was assaulted on a number of occasions and I know a few of the people involved in this, I'm curious. I don't intend on disrupting her self defense training or anything, or even taking her out of your. .. care." He really didn't intend on taking her out of his supposed care, but he definitely wanted to keep an eye on her at the very least. Why was she important?

Noir grabbed his knife and the syringe gun from under the table and murmured to the girl working this shift that he’s done for the night. He looked around for any possible way of cornering the informant as he dove into the crowd. So many questions ran though his mind at once, agitated by the informant’s appearance.

He followed him quickly, giving a quick holler in rapid-fire French to the nearest stripper available to intercept the informant. “Vermilion! Alyssa! Anyone! Get the one in curls and a hoodie!" Vermilion responded quickly, since he was the only one not in the show tonight. His… outfit, if you could call it that, as it was barely even there, clinging tightly to his skin. He rushed to get to the informant, hips swaying and sensuality.

Noir just gripped the syringe gun with a paralytic agent as Vermilion tried to corner him using his sweet talk and several inappropriate remarks. He needed to  find out what the informant was doing here, quickly and by any means necessary. “Informant… Roswell!” he called out, “Stay and don’t do anything stupid or someone’s going to relive getting paralyzed.”

This was going to be an interesting night.

Whoever this "Vermilion" guy was, he certainly was a talker... and very unfortunately scantily clad. What the hell kind of place was this? It was painfully obvious Roswell had little experience in a bar of this caliber and was absolutely flustered at the many off-hand commentary, if you'd call those 'astute observations'- and absolutely knew he was about to walk into some crazy trouble with the very familiar bartender. 

He held his hands up as he was approached by the few numbers of people called his direction, thankfully not drawing the attention of the rest of the bar. Roswell was not about to cause a scene, and honestly only needed information from Noir for a change. Defensively, he kept a very civil, non-threatening tone of voice as to at least diffuse any sort of implication that Roswell were here for Noir specifically. He had no idea Noir would be the one he'd speak to.

Vermilion seemed to give an indignant huff that Roswell made his focus turn away from the man and that he no longer reacted to inappropriate conversation, and sauntered away from his side for the time being. Roswell turned his attention to the main, familiar threat.

"This isn't a revenge thing, hell I didn't even know you'd be here- I literally just need some follow-up information about someone I've asked around about! This was the last known location of a young girl, potentially in danger from a number of people you likely know, and I swear to god you better not be another person after her or I'd really question what she did to be followed up by so many troubles. This isn't business or vendetta, seriously- this is purely for safety and curiosity's sake, okay?"
