Despite the warnings from Gwen, Schuyler’s residency at Crescent Forest was purposeful. With not an ounce of fear for the ritualistic disappearance of those like her, she walks the halls of the Ward with no sense of care of her life or the lives of others.

Gwen begged her parents to not let them take her. Stephen, who was very real and very much so a ghost was protecting her. By allowing her parents to take her to Crescent Forest was signing her death warrant. They let them take her, anyway. She wanted to be a star.

April wasn’t his first charge. As the first of a string of decennial disappearances, Stephen’s ghostly form has watched over residents of Crescent Forest Psychiatric Ward since his death in 1915. His first was Gwen Gwer from 1934 - 1935. His soul has been unable to move on.

For most of her life, April believed herself to be crazy. Things moving as her mind told her to do so without a single touch and being able to foresee things happening as if she was watching a movie broke her down. The arrival of her ‘imaginary’ friend, as her shrink called him, brought her back to reality.  She wasn’t crazy. She was gifted.
