Okay but a plot based off this song please!! Two ex’s who ended on bad terms, but every time one of them has a drink they end up drunk calling the other - usually it goes to voicemail, or the texts don’t get delivered etc. but then one day the other picks up and there’s so much angst!! but lust and love and maybe they end up sleeping together, and this becomes a regular occurance, or maybe it’s just one last night of passion before their final goodbye!!

“Pancakes…” She repeated softly before smiling warmly at her boyfriend. “Thank you, Baby.” Kayleigh reached over to grab a strawberry and started to eat it while she grabbed a few pieces of bacon for her plate and a few more strawberries for her pancakes before she started to pour some of the whipped cream and syrup on her pancakes. She giggled lightly at the cheesy line before turning his face to hers and lightly placing a kiss on his lips.
“A half hour ago? I must’ve been really tired if I didn’t know that you got up.. But me being sleepy wasn’t my fault.” She said, turning to Lucas with a smile before taking a bite of her food. “Okay.. Breakfast in bed, one of your cheesiest yet adorable lines… What’s the occasion?” She asked as she looked at the man who had her heart. “Did I win a bet that I wasn’t aware that we made or something?”
A smile danced on his lips as she gave him a quick kiss; he savoured each moment like this, and would never tire of the little reminders she was his. “Well I was also being extra quiet, because I didn’t want you coming into the kitchen and trying to turn into Gordon Ramsay...I wanted to treat you for once.” Lucas did spoil Kayleigh, there was no denying it - flowers, chocolates...little love notes left behind when he had to go out - but there would always be that slight feeling of guilt about what he did in the beginning of their relationship. Even though it was clear he only had eyes for her, once upon a time he had not appreciated her like he should of, and he hated his old self for not realising how truly amazing she was.
“...the occasion?” He raised an eyebrow. “What, can’t I make my gorgeous girlfriend breakfast in bed every now and then?” Lucas contemplated whether or not now was the right time. Did she deserve something bigger? Did she deserve a proposal that had an unbelievable story behind it? Or was this right...just him and her, like he wanted it to be for the rest of his life?
Clearing his throat, he took her hand in his and began to play with her fingers. “Actually...there is an occasion. Not a bet though...just...” Taking in a breath, he caught her gaze and held it. “I’ve been thinking...a lot, recently...we’ve been through a lot...you and me. I’ve put you through a lot. What with Aundrea and Lily...I know that now everything is more than okay...you love her like I love her and she loves you...but when it all came out...not many girls would have stuck around. Not many girls would have taken me on with all my baggage. But you did. For whatever reason, you opened your heart to me even though it was a risk. And every single day we’ve been together I’ve just fallen more and more in love with you. Each day I get to wake up next to you and think about how I want this for the rest of my life. I want you forever, Kayleigh.” Gulping, he took out the little box and opened it. “I was wondering...if you’d make me the happiest man alive...and be my wife?”

Kayleigh loved late lazy mornings; the times where she could just lay in bed with Lucas, stay in his arms, and just ignore the rest of the world were the best in Kayleigh’s eyes. She didn’t know how time flew so quickly, but they’d been together for four years now and everyday, she somehow found a way to love him more. Things got a bit complicated when she found out that one of his friends were pregnant with his child but they somehow pushed through it and his little girl was just as important to Kayleigh than anything. It helped that Aundrea was very cool and relaxed about things and was happy to have her involved with the baby; it was a weird situation to say the least but they all got along like a weird dysfunctional family and it worked.
Kayleigh faintly heard her name from the familiar rasp that she loved so much, stretching slightly with a smile on her face. “You made breakfast? When did you leave to do that?” She asked softly before looking up at him brightly. “Where are we eating?”

“We’re having pancakes,” He announced rather proudly. “I wasn’t sure on what you wanted on top of yours, so there’s a few things on the tray for you to pick from.” Lucas pinched a couple of pieces of bacon, plopping them on top of his pancakes, before drizzling over some of the maple syrup. A bit got on his finger, and he licked it off, before cracking out one of his cheesiest lines, “Mmm...sweet, but not as sweet as you.” He leaned over and kisses her forehead once more, chuckling at himself. As cringey as it may be - and even he did cringe at himself sometimes - he couldn’t help but make sure Kayleigh knew how much he adored her and cared about her.
After all he had put her through in the beginning, not a day went by where he didn’t try and make her feel special. No regular woman would have stuck by his side and become a part of this family like she had. She was truly incredible. “I snuck out of bed about half an hour ago...seems like someone was sleepy.”
Better Now || Open
Sitting outside the local coffee shop, Jaxon scrolled through his Instagram, scoffing at the top post; his ex had found someone new, and seemed to post a new picture of them every five minutes. Each post was captioned with something ridiculous, like ‘finally found the one’, or ‘my forever’. It had only been a month since the two of them had ended things, how could they be so much better now? Whilst he’d never admit it, he was completely torn up inside. Sure, he didn’t treat them how they deserved, but he would’ve given anything for them. He would’ve loved them till the end of time and back again.
Taking a drag of his cigarette, he sat back in his chair, looking out across the street. And as if on queue, he spotted them. Usually he’d just ignore them, but this most recent post had really agitated him. “Compensating for the shitty sex by constantly posting fake-happy couple pictures? Classy. Told you that you wouldn’t find it better anywhere else.”
January 2019 || Lucas & Kayleigh
The morning sun cascaded through the window, dancing across her skin. He had been watching her for about half an hour now, lost in her beauty, in awe of the woman he could call his girlfriend. Four years had gone by since they had started dating, and Lucas was more in love with her than ever. Each day that passed was just a day his heart grew fonder. She was the most incredible woman he had ever met, and that was why he had decided today was the day; today was the day he was going to ask her to marry him.
Slipping from the covers in just his boxers, he made his way to the kitchen and began to cook breakfast for them. He didn’t know if she had any plans for the day, but his day was free until the evening, when he had promised to have dinner with Aundrea and his little girl. He hoped that Kayleigh would join him, and she would sit at the dinner table with the ring he had picked proudly on her finger.
Assembling a tray, he flipped the pancakes and stacked them on two plates. He then put an array of toppings in little bowls around them: strawberries, melted chocolate, cream, bacon and maple syrup. He poured two glasses of juice, and went back to the bedroom. “Kayleigh...” His morning voice was slightly raspy, as he set the tray down. “Sweetheart...I’ve made breakfast for us.” He pressed a kiss to the top of her head, gently tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.

Castillian was nervous, as any new father would be, but even so he held a confident air about him that he hoped would ease her worries, bringing her a comforting warmth much like that of his hands as they encompassed her smaller ones. Oh, how they seemed to perfectly fit into his as if they had been made just for each other, like pieces of a puzzle interlocking in harmony. And anyone knowing Castillian Ersilia would be foolish to think he’d believe anything less.
The soft pads of his thumbs continued to rub gentle circles into her skin, lulling her back to him, and the soft smile that stroked her lips only made his grow with relief. He knew she was frightened, for if he himself had let his thoughts stray they might very well have choked him too, but the one thing he could promise was that she would not be alone. Cas was going to be there by her side, and there he would always remain.
A gentle hand had caressed his cheek and stayed there as he felt her forehead rest gently against his own, her soft whispers of reassurance causing him to nod ever so subtle as to not disturb her. Castillian had never believed in anything more than he believed in her at this very moment, his faith in her holding him together and keeping him strong.
And then that plea, that soft and gentle plea graced his ears, and not another had been needed to fall from her lips before he was scooping her into his arms with an “of course, my love”, smiling that special smile that only she could bring forth. Oh those three little words, how he’d never tire of hearing them playing on her voice like a fine instrument. Perhaps she wasn’t of his kind, nor held a gift like his own that would make ones true feelings obvious, but he didn’t need such things, not even her verbal affirmation (while he did love hearing it) to know of her affections. It was in her eyes. Maybe they didn’t glow like his own, but they were sparkling in their own ethereal way, and a simple lighting up of one’s hues were nothing compared to the glimmer radiating off of her entire being.
“And I love you.”
With that he lifted her up, feet then soon to pad along the wooden floorboards as he carried her with ease much like he had not very long ago when she had been adorned in white lace. Across the hallway and up the stairs he carries her, into their room among comforters like swans down and where curtains blew with each gentle spring breeze wafting through the open window.
As a little girl, she had always been asking for dolls and barbies for Christmas; she had always known it was her destiny to be a mother. During the initial transition of being a vampire, it hadn’t been the blood thirst that had sent her off the rails - it was, so she thought, her chance of having babies of her own being taken away. She remembered talking to Stefan about it - breaking down countless times with a hand resting on her stomach, as she pictured her life stuck living forever without her one true desire.
Yet now her hand was settling on her stomach, and she could feel the life inside. She could feel the baby her and Castillian had longed for moving and preparing itself for meeting its parents. Whilst the pain had not escalated yet, the discomfort was growing. This movement was more forceful than the odd kick and wriggle she had grown used to over the nine months. But Caroline made sure to practice the breathing exercises she had been taught by the midwife, and reminded herself to remain calm. Any pain, any discomfort, would all be worth it; being able to hold that little bundle of joy in her arms would fit the final piece of her puzzle. She had a beautiful house, a husband she would call her soulmate - and now they were going to have a family of their own.
Her arms loosely wrapped around his neck as he carried her up the stairs. She too was reminded of their wedding night - the most magical, most wonderful night of her life, up until today. Caroline had to kiss a fair few frogs before she found her prince charming, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. Her younger self had pictured the first man she fell in love with to be the last man, but now she understood that love was not that simple. If she had never experienced a love other than Cas’, she would not appreciate and understand its greatness like she does now. Because yes, she had been in love before, but never had she been in love with another like she was with him. Her soulmate. The only man ever perfect enough to father her child.
Settling back onto the sheets, she let out a small sigh of relief. The blankets were soft against her skin, and the breeze that ruffled her hair calmed the flush on her cheeks. Her hand immediately searched for Cas’ though, not wanting him to leave her side, the other still resting on her stomach. “Baby wants to say hello...” She whispered, looking down and seeing the way her stomach moved around. “Daddy’s right here...and we can’t wait to meet you.” Caroline had spoken to the baby all through the pregnancy, and knew it would get used to the voices around it. She wanted it to know who its parents were as soon as it took its first breath.
The midwife stepped in the room, a bounce in her step, excitement evident in her eyes. She had been with them on this journey, and was just as eager to meet the little one as they were. “Okay Caroline...I want you to sit back and keep doing those breathing exercises for me...every time you’ve got a pain, I want you to tell me. I need to count how far apart your contractions are. I’m also going to check how dilated you are, so if I can just do that...” All the equipment was already set up and ready to go - it had been for a couple of weeks now, just in case the baby decided to come early. “You’re doing wonderful.” She reassured her, as she got down to the nitty gritty. Nodding, she peered up at the expecting parents. “You’re coming up to 7cm dilated...”
Before the midwife could continue, Caroline turned to Cas. “I have to be 10cm to start pushing. But we’re getting there...I need to keep changing positions though...”
With a nod, the midwife set a pillow down next to Caroline. “I want you to lay on your side for a bit. Cas, if you want, you can lay behind her, and gently massage her back...this will give her comfort. Caroline, when you feel like you need to change positions, please do...if you don’t have the urge, I recommend doing it every 10-15 minutes. Whether it’s rolling onto the other wide, or getting up and just walking around the room for a bit, you need to keep moving, okay? Pain relief wise...”
She shook her head. “There’s no point...I-I have been through some painful things...I’ll be fine. And anything you would give me would just...burn off faster than it does for humans. And I don’t want to start messing around with dosages, because we don’t know how that could affect the baby. I will be okay.” She was adamant she could get through it without the drugs, although deep down a part of her wished she had the option. But she couldn’t risk damaging their little miracle, and so she would try her best to get through this without causing too much of a fuss.
“who invited him here?” caroline loved a party, but not when she had to face her ex grinding against his new girlfriend. in fact, she had given everyone strict instructions - they could bring whoever they wanted, just not him. swigging from the bottle, her gaze was fixed on the couple. “i mean, who does that? clearly she has no class...disgusting.”

intergalacticxmisfits·:
Thirty-eight weeks and counting.
Castillian was counting down the months, the weeks, the days before their little one would enter the world. Their creation was a miracle in itself, a blessing that he spent every moment he could thanking the heavens for. To say he had been looking forward to their arrival would have been the grandest understatement. The nursery had been prepared for months now, the finest of plushes and blankets awaiting, and Cas had rehearsed every nursery rhyme and lullaby he could remember from his childhood.
All leading up to this very moment.
He had been reading to her from one of his favourite novels, a sweeping tale of romance, when her words had him almost dropping the very book from his hands as his eyes widened in alarm. Well, whether she had wanted it or not there were many panic bells going off in his head, stunning him for a moment until he shook himself out of it and almost went toppling onto the floor when he attempted to get up from the couch where they had been sitting. The book went flying into the air, thankfully landing back on the soft surface of the cushion, and he scrambled to his feet and rushed towards the stairs, calling out to the midwife who had been tending to things on the upper floor.
He’d gotten so caught up in the fever of it all that it was only when she’d spoken up again that he turned his attention back to her, wasting not a moment more to return to her side as he knelt down in front of her. He took her hands into his much larger ones, catching her gaze as his own (radiating in excitement) softened enough to console her.
“Caroline…do listen to me. I understand you are frightened, but you are a strong woman, the strongest I have ever met in all my days. If anyone, from the Tentillius Galaxies all the way to the system of Jumbala, can do this, it is you. I believe in you, my love,” he smiled, rubbing the top of her hands with his thumbs. “But if something were to go array, by no means would you ever be at fault.” Reaching up he placed his lips softly to her temple before capturing her own in a gentle kiss. “Have faith, my sweet Caroline. Have strength. Our child is coming into this world, we mustn’t keep them waiting, worrying of what may not come true.”
Caroline herself had been spoiled growing up. Whilst her father had flittered in and out of her life, her mother had always worked hard to give her everything she wanted. That’s the life she wanted for her little one - not to grow up with an attitude, and to be demanding, but to be able to experience the most wonderful life possible, and to know how much her and Cas loved them. Even the smallest of details needed to be perfect for the arrival of their baby. Their beautiful little miracle.
As scared and as nervous as she was, the warm glow in Cas’ eyes sent relief through her. It was the reassurance that he was going to be here every step of the way. That, unlike the men in her past, he truly was going to be her forever. They would face every unknown side-by-side, and nothing would be able to push them apart. The world was full of powerful things, but Caroline was certain that their love for one another was capable of things out of this world.
A gentle smile tugged at the corner of her lips, her hand gently cupping his cheek as he kissed her softly. “I-I can do this...” She whispered softly, to reassure herself as well as him. “I can do this...” Resting her forehead against his, she took in a deep breath. “Can you help me get upstairs?” She didn’t plan on having the baby on the living room floor. She wanted to be in bed, with him holding her hand, and the midwife telling her exactly what she needed to do. “I love you...” She added, knowing that her eyes could not glow as his did, and give away her true feelings for him. That was something she hoped their baby would inherit; it was enchanting and endearing.

she had always been very vocal when expressing her opinions. caroline was a firm believer in honesty, and going after what you want. but when it came to the feelings she had been developing for her best friend, she had kept those bottled up for years - terrified she was going to jeopardize everything. except sitting here now, hearing that they were newly engaged, she couldn’t fake happiness. in fact, the hurt was clear in her eyes. “...you’re...getting married? really?”
It’s Time ||
planning to have a child hadn’t been easy. in fact, it had been the hardest thing caroline had ever had to do. as a vampire, it was supposed to be impossible - let alone when your husband was of an entirely different species also. however, after extensive research and an investment of all of her time, caroline and her best friend, bonnie bennett, had found a way to make it happen.
the spell process was just the beginning of what would be a very trying time. it hadn’t worked on the first few occasions, and whilst caroline was typically a very hopeful and bright character, it was evident her spark was fading. all she wanted was to have her own family. all she wanted was to give cas the child he so desperately desired.
and then, one day, out of the blue, everything fell into place.
she hadn’t been feeling too well, but had assumed it was merely a side effect of the spell - not that the spell had actually worked. it was only when the nausea continued over the course of a few weeks that it finally clicked; caroline forbes was going to be a mother.
~*~
“cas...” the blonde whispered, hand settling on her 38-week baby bump. “i-i...i don’t want to cause necessary alarm bells...but...i think...i think something is starting to happen.” by starting, caroline meant for the past few hours she had been experiencing slight cramps on and off, except she had kept quiet about it, thinking that maybe the baby was just sitting funny. but as time went on, these cramps were starting to get stronger, and closer together. the reality had set in. it was time for their little princess to be born. “i think...maybe...we need to get the midwife out here...”
given their situation was so complicated, caroline had decided to hire a personal midwife. she compelled the woman in the beginning to always be honest about their baby - whether or not the growth was natural, if the baby was harming caroline etc. the main focus of the compulsion though, was that she kept their secrets. that when the baby came out, it may not be like a normal human baby - it’s heart may beat differently, it may crave something other than milk - and she would be sworn to secrecy.
“i-i’m scared...” she admitted. “what if...what if i can’t do this? or something goes wrong a-and it’s my fault?”
