After having a nagging feeling that she’s been too overwhelming this whole time, she had prepared a whole talk in her head so she can finally be ready to ask if they’re better off as just friends with benefits. The bored shadow is bored. Usually when they’re bored, and Boss has nothing on his to-do list for them, they turn into an animal and go out into the woods just by the circus grounds and mess with ant hills or carcasses.

A rabbit! They don’t feel like being mean today, so they decide against turning into a wolf. They morph into a female bunny and hop up to it.

Java had been scrounging around for flowers and other herbs in the grasses by the circus compound in their rabbit form, far enough out of sight of any humans when they sensed a shift in the air and popped their head up, nose wiggling and ears perked, straight atop their head as they noticed the new rabbit hopping up to them.

💜 She sniffs. That’s…not just any other rabbit. She smells something else.

Her ears twitch and she tilts her head. What on earth is she looking at? Can she befriend this fellow?

Spotting a nearby dandelion, and putting together what this fellow was doing, she plucks it out of the ground and drops it in front of him.

“For you,” she experimentally adds, in case they can talk too.

Java watches the other with curiousity when they dont just hop away, sniffing themselves and then eyeing the circus for a moment.

'More shifters than anticipated, how curious~'

When the other returned with a flower however Java squeaked, shifting to rummage through the fur of their dewlap where some smaller pieces were stored to pull out their own gift of a purple flower and hop to place it beside the dandelion, little cotton tail wagging behind them.

"For you also!"

💜 “Holy shit!” She gleefully hopped up and down, knowing that she came across another shapeshifter.

“Love the flower, super cute,” she mentions. “Are you gathering supplies for something? Can I help?” She has no idea why they’re scrounging for plants, but she seems delighted to assist.

Java giggled, ears twitching watching the other bounce.

"I like gathering bits and pieces anywhere i go to press and keep for memory! Though the natural smell of herbs is nice to keep once dried"

A shift of magic and they pull out a small bag from a pocket of magic from their fur and place it, putting the dandelion gift within it.

"Id welcome the help though!"

She leans down and carefully examines the magical bag. Smells like fertile dirt and a hint of pomegranate seeds. Magic! Cool! But how?

“Where are you from?”

Another shift and rather just a rabbit their antlers appear, their unnatural colours shifting, a glamour slipping for the other shifter to see through, still appearing as a rabbit to any curious guests.

"Oh from all over, really. Everywhere and nowhere, though- originally... not from this plane." Java hums, already hopping off just a little to nibble through some more dandelion stalks nibbling on them before bringing back the flowers. "What about yourself?"
