People are taking the whole “this person is performative for xyz” think too far and it literally shows. Like actually, it’s human nature to want to master a skill and share that with the world. If it’s performative to openly love things and have an open forum about them, then are your favorite authors, singers, and painters performative? We’re literally not letting people fully lean into who they are because we are in a very audience-driven society, and while doing things for brownie points is an issue, being seen doing something at its core is actually quite natural. Like why don’t you just turn the focus to yourself and indulge who you are. You’ll be a lot less miserable that way.

Being trans has gotten so...insignificant to me? In a way? I pass perfectly well, I've been on T for over 7 years, I am chill enough with my body to see it as male despite not having had operations and I just...genuinely forget that I'm trans sometimes, because its so irrelevant in my day to day life. The only moments where I think about it and remember, are when I'm looking for a partner, or when I adjust my behavior around women, because I'm now perceived as a cis guy and thus (understandably) as a threat by them and have to make sure that I try my best to make them comfortable, which I didn't have to do pre-transition. But really thats it? And its not a negative thing, that being trans is so normal to me now, that I forget about it, it just feels kinda weird for the lack of a better word. Because for years it was the cause of so much suffering and was present and important in so many situations and I had to at least kinda fight a little bit for my transition goals, but now its just...there? Odd, yet encouraging!
