r/Murderbot mods really said "if you can't use it/its for a fictional character, get over yourself".
After the season I have to say how much I love Murderathin as a ship. There are so many fun, creative, kind people in this space who are fascinated by these two, and how they can explore the relationship weâve been given through the show.
And there are so many vectors people can explore! Weâve got frenemies, weâve got hate!sex, weâve got two-people-who-are-the-same-person and canât even bear to perceive one another, weâve got perceiving one another on the sorts of levels only achievable by carrying one anotherâs brains inside themselves, weâve got tender weird mind meld sex, weâve got no-sex-ever-QPR vibes, weâve got whatever-theyâve-got-is-more-intense-than-sex-ever-could-be mind-bending Situations.
And I love them all. Every single interpretation. There are infinite possibilities for these two fictional characters, only limited by that particular writer/artist/creatorâs tastes. The writers, Alexander Skarsgard, and David Dastmalchian all gave us such a wonderfully complex, fucked-up, beautiful relationship to delve into, and I love seeing what people make of it, in whatever configuration most appeals to them. I love the gentle QPR stuff, I love the complex explorations of what precisely they both want and are comfortable with physically and emotionally, I love the ultra-intense explicit stuff that exists purely because someone enjoyed writing it, I love the stuff that could in no way be classified as sexual but feels even more explicit than that. I love so many people pushing at the boundaries of a relationship, what shape it might take, and how these two people might be able to figure out how they fit together somehow.
I just have so much love for this ship, and so much appreciation for the folks being creative and exploring it.
Give poor SecUnit a break.
Also of course I ship Murderbot and Gurathin, duh
I didn't even think to ship them when I read the books, but god, the TV show definitely hits different.
The thing about Murderbot/Gurathin is that I'm finding them very hard to write one-shots for. I feel like they need at least four novel length stories to even conceive accepting that they like each other.
"Slow burn" is too fast for them, those fools need to be sun-dried.
David Dastmalchian says KISS YOUR HOMIES
ermmm so what even is their ship name. they made them so gay in the show
Murderbot and Gurathin on a surveyâŚ
not enough murderathin fanfic. do i need to write it myself

Still thinking about Scruffbot unfortunately
This is what im talkin about babey!!!!!
I read four books in this series. I can't believe how much more I like the TV show in comparison...but this is definitely one of the reasons.
Hi there! I've only been looking at this blog more recently so I'm not sure if you've received an ask like this before, but I was curious - given that your blog is 'early'midsomermurders, what's the point that 'early' Midsomer Murders stops for you?
I was thinking perhaps the end of S15 because that's when Jones left, but you might consider that too late.... What are your thoughts on the matter? Was curious.
(Completely unrelated to the fact that I'm considering sending you a hopefully fun series of asks soon đ)
But.
So.
Ok itâs Tom.
The short answer is Tom. I love the old man, I love blogging about the old man, no I don't think all Tom eps are great but god do I love the old man.
There is another short answer. To me, early Midsomer is about two things. 1) Paying homage to cozy crime mystery while being a little shit about it. John Nettles called it âAgatha Christie on speedâ. 2) Celebrating middle class nostalgia and middle class conservatism in a way that's both blatantly uncritical and irreverently satirical somehow at the same time.Â
There is more of that in the earlier seasons than the later ones: more camp, more absurdity, more commitment to a creepy yet irresistible notion of the âgood old daysâ. More of the things I love most about Midsomer.
So to me early Midsomer is more than an era tied to a writer or a leading man or a showrunner.Â
It's about the way Midsomer tells its stories.
Thanks anon this was funđ
Midsomer Murders has an insane ratio of women who are the murderer.
Georgia seems keen :-) it wouldnât be a challenge for David.
I love when a character in Midsomer Murders says âI just canât believe a murderâs happened here.â You canât? You canât believe a murder could happen? Here? In Midsomer County? Really?
