Before I see anyone claim mass deletion of blogs drawing attention to the unfair treatment of the demographic they’re apart of has never happened before, no one else goes through this, etc. Lemme remind y’all that this has been and is still happening with Black and Brown bloggers since…relatively forever. Black bloggers in particular were hit pretty hard during May 2020 when we were speaking out about George Floyd’s murder.

What I’m saying is, yes this has happened before, yes Tumblr will continue to mass delete both trans women and Black bloggers who dare not take the shit lying down. This is also where intersectionality comes in, because Black trans women are especially high risk for being silenced, both on and offline. I’m glad people are finally paying attention, but at the same time it sucks it took this long for a wider audience to catch on.

I can't even begin to express how disgusted I am that the language of the oppressed has been so explicitly taken to apply to the oppressor, I can't begin to express how disgusted I am that the oppressed are now accused of being the oppressor, I can't begin to express how disgusted I am with all of you for constantly accusing trans women of the rhetoric of the people advocating for our deaths in favour of MEN, the people with the most power, privilege, opportunity, and the people who, objectively, statistically, do the most oppressing of every single other group. I’m always being told that TERFs hate men, and yet every influential TERF openly embraces men who are misogynistic and often predatory. I cannot think of an example to the contrary. These people would rather see patriarchal gender roles and biological essentialism held up than see a trans woman live a safe, happy life. What is more anti-feminist than putting men’s power over women’s needs? But because these women in need are trans, so TME people feel the need to remind us we were CAMAB and therefore must be hated for our “proximity to maleness”, not because we are marginalized and vulnerable women. With tumblr’s blatant transmisogyny on the rise, I’m happy people are reblogging posts in solidarity with trans women. But please don’t let this be the beginning and end of your compassion. You can reblog all the posts in the world that say “rb if you love transfems” “rb to kill a terf” “rb to hit tumblr CEO with cars and hammers” and such, but it means close to nothing if you don’t treat the trans women in your life, both online and real life, with the kindness and respect they deserve. If you don’t know or talk with any trans women, now is a better time than ever to do some introspection and question as to why that is. I know I wouldn’t be who I am today without the transfems in my life, and I’m sure this goes for many others too. It’s the very least we can do to return the kindness.

and so my tactics changed. i made a point to be extra kind & friendly to her. she changed her hair color one day & when i complimented her on it, she was very caught off guard & said “oh, thank you. my whole life i’ve thought i was ugly.”

now we’re at the point where she shows me pictures of watercolor paintings she made & says hi when she walks in the door. she’s not my favorite patron, but she’s perfectly okay. most unpleasant people aren’t inherently rotten, they’re just unhappy & coping with it poorly

Thats not a symptom!’ And people making posts explaining that no, actually, some of us do have low empathy got attacked and told they were wrong or ableist?
