Question your religion consistently.  There is little chance for it to grow inside of you otherwise.  If you give over the entirety of your faith to any group.  It will die inside you before you even notice, suffocated.

Like a Child

You are like a child in god's eyes.  What could you know for sure in your short life - compared to the infinity of the universe?  Make your mistakes.  Learn your lessons.  Crawl, then when you are ready, in this life or the next, walk.

Wisdom

No one can bring you closer to you, without your permission. Neither can they move you further away. The wisdom of the universe rests just behind your eyes. Close them and listen.

purpose

If you ever had the feeling that you had to help the world in some way, by any means please do the first thing that comes to your mind.  You don't have to be good at it.  You don't have to succeed at it.  You just have to be present with it.

Love

Love is enough when love becomes action. It is enough to want the best for someone else when you help them get there. Or at least, when you get out of his way.

The way of the nomad

You have nothing to leave, but the dust of your impact.  The world will go on forever and you will soon enough be forgotten - no matter who you are.  There it is, you are free.

You do not have to be spiritually evolved to lead others to spiritual evolution. You have lessons to teach from exactly where you are.

Success

Success is feeling comfortable in your self.

You don’t know anyone at the party, so you don’t want to go. You don’t like cottage cheese, so you haven’t eaten it in years. This is your choice, of course, but don’t kid yourself: it’s also the flinch. Your personality is not set in stone. You may think a morning coffee is the most enjoyable thing in the world, but it’s really just a habit. Thirty days without it, and you would be fine. You think you have a soul mate, but in fact you could have had any number of spouses. You would have evolved differently, but been just as happy. You can change what you want about yourself at any time. You see yourself as someone who can’t write or play an instrument, who gives in to temptation or makes bad decisions, but that’s really not you. It’s not ingrained. It’s not your personality. Your personality is something else, something deeper than just preferences, and these details on the surface, you can change anytime you like. If it is useful to do so, you must abandon your identity and start again. Sometimes, it’s the only way. Set fire to your old self. It’s not needed here. It’s too busy shopping, gossiping about others, and watching days go by and asking why you haven’t gotten as far as you’d like. This old self will die and be forgotten by all but family, and replaced by someone who makes a difference. Your new self is not like that. Your new self is the Great Chicago Fire—overwhelming, overpowering, and destroying everything that isn’t necessary.

There will be many people in this life to whom you will owe everything you are. Treasure them.

Thought

If you remain quiet for a moment, you will understand that your mind is not the one doing the thinking. It is the interpreter of your thoughts. It is the observer. Thoughts are lifeless things that hop from one mind to the next. You have never thought something that was not at one point thought by someone else. So detach yourself and be free.

Life is not a school.  It is a place of remembering.
