Episode 11 YOI Thoughts

I think the purpose of episode 11 is for us to be in Yuuri’s shoes. The whole episode was a huge panic attack. We had no idea what Viktor was thinking half the time, and all we saw was Yuuri’s perspective of him and the performances (besides the occasional narrative of the characters but that’s beside the point). The whole episode was almost strictly through Yuuri’s eyes. He couldn’t read Victor’s expressions and was constantly making assumptions. This episode was very human and very stressful. I think we just experienced exactly what Yuuri was going through. That’s why we are all left with this fear and uncertainty because that’s exactly what Yuuri is feeling. I’m pretty much 99% sure they aren’t going to break up, it would defeat the whole story if they did. This episode dealt with Yuuri’s self confidence issues and anxieties. He’s projecting his fear outwards and is making assumptions we don’t quite hear him explain out loud. He’s more than likely in his mind thinking he may lose Viktor because of his performance compared to the other skaters. And he also might see that Viktor wants to compete again. He’s very much dependant on Viktor, yet he still has a hard time expressing himself to him. However we won’t know till next week. I don’t think there’s anything to worry about. Besides. Kubo Sensei loves her characters as much of not more than we all do. If anything, I say congratulations! we have all just experienced the raw emotions of the main character as if we were him!

Did you ever stop to think how horribly jaded we are to have spent the week between every episode of Yuri on Ice trying to convince ourselves not to get our hopes up? Man, what years of queerbaiting has done to folks.
