Hear me out, if Dorian Pavus apprenticed under Emmrich in Nevarra in his teens, he probably not only picked up fom hin not just spells, but also the love for facial hair.

Imagine, of you will, baby gay Dorian with a massive crush on his necromancy professor, who not only knows all there is to know about the death, he's also soft spoken, erudite and openly bisexual, coming back to Tevinter with the first wisps of his signature mustache, and a new need to be himself openly. No wonder he'd rebelled and gone off the rails.

Also, imagine Felix seeing him for the first time and making fun of his mustache, and Dorian defending it because it looked so good on Emmrich.

5 OC Facts: Yara Lavellan-Pavus

tagged by @sunshinemage, @seboostianillustrations and @not-so-harmonious! Thank you! I already did Fael here so now it’s Yara’s turn :D

Yara is short. She barely reaches 1,60m / 5′3′’ and she’s a bit… uhm… sensitive about it. Especially since her cousin Ataashi is a tall giant of an elf. So she overcompensates by lifting up swords taller than she is, and being very good at hitting people with it.

The birthmark she has under her left eye somewhat resembles a dragon head. That and her fiery temperament earned her the nickname “Isenatha” since she was a little child in her old clan. (and that’s why she and Ataashi are referred to as the “Dragon Daughters” :D)

Dorian won over her initial wariness by offering to teach her how to read. He’s been her ‘papae’ ever since.

Despite their collective best efforts, Yara isn’t really a diplomat like Fael and Dorian are. She instead pursues a warrior’s path under the supervision of Cassandra and occasionally Iron Bull, and she proves to be an excellent strategist.

Her name means “She who will rise for us” in elvhen. The Keeper of her old clan dreamt that she would have a part in the shaping of history for the elves when she was born. For this reason, she was a valued member of the clan and this is why her mother Miva has to smuggle her away when the entire clan decided to become loyal to Solas.
