i saw this somewhere else but reply / tag what you did today so everyone can see that we all did something different today

#finished and sent a job application #then played Sims for a bit longer than intended #started my workout much later than intended because of that but did about 35 min of aerobics and then 15 min yoga stretching #then showered and heated up dinner and watched some episodes of the good place cause I'm on a rewatch and it's great #now I'm gonna attempt to begin the quest to go to bed and fall asleep cause I have two appointments tomorrow #oh and i also actually painted my nails like i meant to! that's a huge accomplishment actually cause 99% of the time i end up not doing it #have a new nail polish that is sort of minty turquoise and it feels very summery and makes me happy

My old person take today is that I feel like people have normalized being on your phone every single moment including when you're spending "quality" time with others so much that they're defensive if someone isn't ok with it. Yes, you have a problematic relationship with your phone and social media if you physically cannot put it down for a couple of hours to like, have dinner with your friends. It's a show of respect for other people's time and energy as well as important to be present and connect with people around you. Your parents who told you no phone at the table were right for that one.

#yeess 😩#I'm like the only one who just... leaves their phone in their bag by the door #and only bring it out if I need to show the other person/people something or if i want to take a picture or video #even if we're at my place my phone just lives in its designated spot and i only touch it for said reasons or for Spotify #and often miss messages for hours #cause that's not the end of the world you know!#but others will fully answer a message in the middle of a conversation #like what's so important??#also if i do see a message that i feel i should reply to right away i say ''sorry i just need to answer this thing from [person]''#so many people act as if their phone is a physical extension of them

#ha! reminds me of being accused by my best friend when we were kids of being spoiled for the sole reason that I was an only child #meanwhile she was the one who got everything she pointed at (including ridiculously expensive toys)#and got super moody if we didn't want to play her way #I'm independent yes and have somewhat poor social skills but there are other reasons for that 🙃#polls
