“But you don’t look like you have an eating disorder...”
People with eating disorders look like this:
People with eating disorders look like this:
People with eating disorders also look like this:
And this:
People with eating disorders can also appear like this:
Or this:
Or even this:
Bottom Line: Eating disorders are mental illnesses, with weight as a side effect. Just like someone cannot “look OCD,” or “look like they have bipolar disorder.” So please, next time you interact with someone regarding this topic, please be considerate of the fact that you do not have to “look sick” to be sick.
draw stick figures. sing off key. write bad poems. sew ugly clothes. run slowly. flirt clumisly. play video games on easy. you do not need to be good at something to enjoy the act. talent is overrated. do things you like doing. it’s ok to suck
It’s a beautiful thing to have lungs that allow you to breathe air and legs that allow you to climb mountains, and it’s a shame that sometimes we don’t realize that that’s enough

Change is good
Reminder that recovery is...
-not a continuous straight path -not easy -a long process -a lot of work -has many ups and downs
And…
It’s totally ok if you -are unsure about it -don’t even want it some days -slip up sometimes -don’t even know where to start
As long as you -keep trying -don’t give up -try and be patient with yourself -give it time
That’s some serious cardio.
Learn to get back on track. And get used to it. Because there will be times where you mess up. If it’s only one meal, one day or a weekend or even a week or an entire month. It will happen. And that’s okay. The secret is to learn to forgive yourself and start over again. Just get up and leave the unhealthy habits behind you- over and over again. Every. Single. Day.
