So this is a pelim-sketch I did for Crimz, somewhat based on a design she sketched up. Which I unfortunately cannot find because I suck. >_>;

The idea is as follows: Red fish-tail skirt with ruffles around the hem, and a bustle. A long sleeved white shirt with ~~POOFED SLEEVES~~ that synch, a collar, and an awesome ruffled-neck-thing. (Seriously, what're are they called) Over that a short vest, and an oversized holster-belt. Then either solid or stripped tights, kick-ass boots, a decorated top-hat, and some other neat details, and viola.

Of course since Crimz's color is CRIMSON (woah who'da thunk?) everything is gonna be red or neutral, with only a tiny bit of other colors speckled throughout.

Now this is just an IDEA SKETCH. Crimz, you are allowed TO DO WHATEVER YOU WANT. BECAUSE I LOVE YOU. AND WANT YOU TO HAVE FUN. becauseIessentiallyforcedyouintothisIamtheworst friend in the world.

Crimz

Hey there everyone, Crimz here! : ) I am so excited to be a part of this project, and SO excited to meet up with two of my bestest buddies!!

I was the second to hear about our plan to meet up. Though I love steampunk just as much as my friends, I admit I'm probably the most inexperienced out of us! I've got some ideas for my outfit, and GreenGlow and Terry are helping me quite a bit in making it more practical and helping to figure out where to get things. 

Uhmmm, my personal is CrimsonNightshade (CrimsonNightshade.tumblr.com), and yeah! I can't wait to start work on this project!! : )

Hello Everybody, I'm Terry. : ) I heard about Green's idea the last out of the group, but I'm still uber excited for it! It's been a dream for a long time to meet the others and I'm so hoping we'll be able to pull it all off!  I don't know too much about Steampunk, but I did do a little research and a project on it back in highschool! It will be fun to design an outfit for myself.  I don't think I have to much to say!  I don't sew much, but I'll do my best! This is my first major project hehe. The Green Deceiver

Hi guys, I'm GreenGlow! I'm the one who was all "oooh prooom steaaampunk." Here's a little explanation behind that: I don't really want to attend prom, but if I do, I want to go out with a bang. And I thought, hey, why not put together a steampunk costume! It'll be awesome! And why not make it focus on my signature color, green?

And then after even more discussion with Terry and Crimz, I thought up some more ways to insert my "character" into the costume. The Green Deciever is something of an anti-hero, one that confuses people about which side their on, and is very good at keeping into emotions. So it was decided that a mask or something of the sort be included in the costume, along with some interesting weaponry. Since I might wear it to prom (and use it as my design final project) the weaponry probably won't be included at first.

This will definitely be an interesting project, since it's my first time doing steampunk, and I'm still quite new to the sewing machine. But I've put together costumes before, all it takes is some time, ingenuity, and creativity. I can't wait to start sharing my progress and ideas.

Anyway, I hope this costume goes along well, and it won't be long before I get to meet Crimz and Terry for the first time!

Steam Meet Intro

The Steam Meet is a project started up by three friends, all of which have yet to meet.

Terry, GreenGlow and Crimz are three friends who have met each other due to the wonders of the internet. But even though we talk to each other regularly, none of use have been able to meet in person yet. Obviously, we often have long discussions about what might happen if the three of us ever are lucky enough.

One idea was that we do a cosplay group, dressing up as characters from a fandom we all have in common. After plenty of thinking though, we discovered we don't actually have any fandoms in common, not really. It was hesitantly decided to go for a Disney theme, though the characters would be from different movies.

One day though, GreenGlow was discussing her latest project with Crimz. It was going to be a steampunk prom outfit, and then the idea was planted. We could do a steampunk shoot, themed after our superhero personae. The hero personae are goofy nicknames we've given each other, as if we were our own mini Justice League going out to do ridiculous actions in the world.

After some more thinking and planning, The Steam Meet was created: A pact between three friends that they'd all meet in person someday, and do so in style. This blog is to record their process, thoughts, and emotions as they work on the project.
