Come One Crow, Come Murder

Greetings everyone, my name is Amihan Velasco, the Ultimate Poet.

It's come to my attention that a fair bit of my upperclassmen, Mr. Otori's students, have formed pages here, so I decided I'd take part in this. I don't tend to be the most facially expressive, but that's what emoticons and prose are for. ^-^

While this is a personal blog I've made to spend time with other students on campus, I'll also be storing any poems I feel are good enough for the internet, yet lack what I'm looking to add in my collections.

Feel free to send asks of any kind: poetry requests are allowed, but anything sexual is strictly prohibited. This seems to be a fitting time to add that I'm aroace, so while I'm open to writing romance for you, I'm not interested in connecting with anyone here through such a relationship.

I'll provide any important information here over time. Until then, dear crows. [// extra info about the poet and her narrator below]

I've been primarily interacting with @average-yukimaeda and his other blog as Stargazing Anon for a little bit, and decided I might as well make an account. ^^

Here's a little more context on Amihan:

She primarily uses she/her pronouns, but as long as you don't refer to her by he/him, they won't care.

I don't know how old the college au versions of everyone are, but I'll just have her be a year younger than you guys.

As of right now, I don't plan to have other AUs for her besides the college one, but that's subject to change. Oh! And I'm perfectly fine with her interacting with ultimates outside of the Another series.

Poem 02 | Rainbows Need Sunshine and Rain

Bright greens, palm trees, sunshine galore,

Wide smiles, fun lines, never a bore,

Radiant and effective, heart contagious,

Old days, new ways, the choice to be courageous,

Trusty and reliable, the sun always is,

But forever it cannot be, eternal bliss,

For where sunlight goes, rain's bound to follow,

Inevitable it is, that lingering mellow,

Clouds of melancholy find us eventually,

(No point feigning endless positivity),

But with that rain, colliding with light,

Rainbows shine, a beautiful sight,

The spectrum, be it colors, lovers, thoughts, hearts,

They all define who we are,

To hide them away from the sun's rays,

Well, all that follows is shame,

Should rainy thoughts be pushed down below,

Buried places the stars can't go,

Saves not the hearts of you or I,

For that pain only builds up a larger tidal wave,

So lest your mind be your own demise,

Embrace that rain as you do sunshine,

For rainbows will follow, easy on all eyes.

Inspiration for poetry can arise from many places, and today, it came from a familiar face. I don't know if you recall us meeting, Mr. Otori (@teruya-ultimatemerchant), but one of your recent posts sparked some inspiration for this poem. At the end of the day, it's up to you whether you trust us to listen to the events occuring in your life, but I hope you know that this platform's a safe place to express your concerns, regardless of degree.

Hi Teruya, my name's Amihan Velasco, the Ultimate Poet, and one of your underclassmen. I'm assuming I'm still the younger one here.

I was wondering if you had any sunflower seeds at the Otori Mart right now? I've been trying to find some for a while now. The specific kind doesn't matter. ^-^

Underclassmen? Ooh, I didn't know I had underclassmen! How the time flies by, I coulda sworn It's been a few months since I've arrived at hope's peak!

'Course we have sunflower seeds! We got all kindsa seeds around here, rose seeds, dandelion seeds, snapdragon seeds (those are scary as hell tho I don't recommend getting them unless you're immune to spooky)

And if you buy three of em' it becomes cheaper over all! If you need any other gardenin' tools, let your senpai know 'bout it, kay?⁓

There's snapdragon seeds? Well I'll certainly be adding that and the dandelion seeds to my purchase, thank you. ^-^

By the way, I'm curious, when you refer to Hope's Peak, are you talking about the high school, or the university?

i know he’s right. i can’t even feel angry anymore, i think i just wish i would be seen at this point. seen by him as anything but an afterthought. I don’t want his admiration, i don’t want his attention even, just some kind of understanding…

Oh. Well, it seems divine luck really does work on this platform. No wonder my ask didn't get in; maybe you were going to answer that question no matter what. (//for context, I sent an ask where Amihan asks Yuki why he bothers to even remotely maintain this connection to Utsuro, but fittingly enough, he answered the question himself here ^^)

I think I might be picking up what you're putting down? *-*;

Before I continue, I'd like to make it clear that you are worth the energy it takes for someone to have any sort of feelings towards you, regardless of the kind. I'm uncertain as to how I could get you to believe that-- I'm starting to think you'd need him to prove that-- but I assure you, you're worth it.

Now, where was I going with this? Right. Yuki, have you ever heard people say that hatred and love are two sides of the same coin? Before you say anything, I'm not saying that they're the exact same thing, and I'm explicitly not saying that love is what you're feeling. (She says with her hands half-up. In her head, Amihan's thinking, "I can't be the one to say it. Divine luck already stopped me from suggesting it earlier.")

However, it sounds at the least that you do want to speak with him on some level. So, it might seem crazy what I'm 'bout to say, butjusttalkwithhimaboutsomethingnotrelatedtowhateveryoutwohavebickeredaboutinthepastpleaseliketherehastobecommongroundsomewhere. (// for the lack of spacing, she's saying, "but just talk with him about something not related to whatever you two have bickered about in the past please like there has to be common ground somewhere.")

Poem 01 | The Starry Reincarnation of a Phoenix

Under mid-summer clouds of a cirrus,

The sun-kissed chatter, leaving the circus,

Of saturated flames and masks of many eyes,

They turn sunflowers at the sight in the skies,

A phoenix of many hues,

Emerging from the shadows, a true wonder,

It shines over the group of teenagers,

Erasing all hints of feelings so somber,

In spite of its speed, the sunkissed chase,

The bird that refracts as it fades into space,

Deep tones, monochrome, tread in its place,

Pulling down the lines sculpted on each face,

Hours pass, rumbles arise, crows flock,

Then, the one in lace begins to talk,

"Look above, look at what's been painted!"

She beams, simply elated,

In the deep night,

They're greeted by the sight,

Of the phoenix, risen in the stars,

Watching through starry eyes.

This poem was inspired by these two posts alongside the song, Rule #9 - Child of the Stars, by Fish in A Birdcage. ^-^

No, no, I do. Here. (An icepack's set on Yuki's bedside table) Press it against your eyebags, one at a time, a couple minutes each.

I'm getting an account setup to talk with you in person (//I just wanna make an oc for the roleplaying), and I can get you a proper breakfast on the way over. Any preferences? I'm making my way over either way. We don't have to talk if you don't wanna, but I'd like to at least be present for you. ^^'

i don’t feel hungry for breakfast… i guess i’ll leave the door unlocked but i’m just going to go back to laying down…

ooc // Yayay!!! Looking forward to the account, anon. As for Yuki, these posts are largely apart of the muse shipping I’ve been doing with DRA Utsuro’s admin so sadly there’s not much to be done regarding cheering Yuki up.

//Well, Amihan doesn't know that, so she's going to try and fail.

Storms almighty, you'd think the staircases wouldn't get me this easily. (Sighing, she knocked on Yuki's door twice before entering his dorm, setting a picnic basket down on the edge of the bed. Under the impression that he's asleep since he's laying down, she mutters to herself.) Didn't think I'd see the day where someone's physical health is this much worse than my own.

(Getting up, Amihan set one of the purchased items, a bento box, down on the bedside table. Looking back and forth between the unused icepack and Yuki, the poet eventually pulls out her notepad, writes a brief note, and leaves the torn sheet of paper on the box.) I wish I could be around for longer but my schedule's a tad tight. Rest well, Yuki.

(The basket's set on the floor beside the bedside table. Inside, there's enough meals to last someone a few days. The icepack's then placed inside Yuki's freezer by Amihan before she locks the door behind her.)

Please, eat when you wake up,

The meal doesn't need to be finished; a few bites is enough,

I'm not fully aware of what you're going through,

But I'd like to at least be somebody to talk to,

While I know I don't have the experience of Mr. Otori,

I hope to distract your mind at least slightly with a story,

Poetry's been my lifeline many a time,

So perhaps, one day, I could help you through one of mine,

Try to treat yourself, Yuki,
