I love how Sarah feels like a parallel to Bear: in her own way she’s just as obsessed, and it really shapes how little care she shows Nikki (vs doting over Bear). She is flawed, but nowhere near as bad as him, and she absolutely did not deserve that fate… she deserved a fresh start far away from this cursed friend group 😭

lowkey would be so interesting to see an AU where Sarah was the wisher instead… but I think part of what makes the original hit so hard is Bear’s completely irredeemable, possessive masculinity. So maybe it just wouldn’t be the same…
