Giant betta!

It is indeed bigger than the common betta (Betta splendens) growing to be anywhere between 8-12 cm (3-4.7 inches) and having a thicker body. It is a mouthbrooder, like most species of bettas.

This fabulous large man has been with me for all of 4 days and I love him to death. Please don’t break my heart big guy!

He’s a giant plakat betta with koi/marble/multicolored genetics of some sort. I know these are a huge risk for many reasons, but I found him in my neighborhood, and it turns out I’m a fool after all. I’m looking forward to all the color changing shenanigans. In the meantime, he watches me cook and do dishes.

Please excuse the state of this tank. It’s been through some hard times.

A king Betta! He's large but definitely think hes young and will get bigger and develop more color. His sparkly body is amazing though!

Beans has had ENOUGH 😂

Splat is my new boy- I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with another betta so soon but then my boss brought this giant boy in. He’s fascinated with the snails and keeps looking at them. It’s stressing me out and it spooks the snails sometimes too- I keep thinking he’s going to attack them, but I haven’t been able to catch him doing that yet. I may have to set him up his own tank if he doesn’t chill 😑

But for now say hello to my new son!
