Final Presentation Week!
As we move into our final presentation week here are some reminders!
Plan!
You have worked the entire semester on your project. Do not try to plan your presentation in one night. Planning a presentation does not mean just dropping parts of your written project onto slides. You have to figure out what to present and how to present it in a visually stimulating way to your audience. You also need to consider how you can engage the audience with your content.
Rehearse!
Organise and decide who is doing what part of the presentation. Presenters need to stick to what they have to say and practice the transitions from one speaker to another.
Time it!
The best presentations are no more than 20 miniutes! Ask yourself, what do we need to achieve with this presentation? Have we been able to do that in 20 minutes? What do we need to cut out or cut down on?
Enjoy it!
Many students say that they do not like to present. Guess what!
Most people don’t!
That just means though you need to put more effort into your practice. Stand in front of a mirror and review what you need to say. Look at your facial expressions and movement of your hands. Presentations for many persons is almost like acting and playing a dramatic role for 20mins which may be outside of your normal character and that’s okay! Once you make it authentic!
It’s Christmas time in Trinidad and Tobago!
If you are an educator that means it’s a lot of lesson completion, invigilating exams, marking exams and entering final marks and grades before you can truly enjoy that pastelle and sorrel!
It’s that time of year!
Always!
A book, too, can be a star, a living fire to lighten the darkness, leading out into the expanding universe.
